Animation building closing?

I am not sure if this has been mentioned/discussed/dissected/done to death...but...

Just saw a post on Facebook from DVC Central that the Animation building is closing "soon" for a remodel or expansion. Apparently, Baymax and Hiro won't be there beyond the 12th or 18th of July and the Sorcerer Mickey and Minnie will be moving elsewhere in the Studios.

Anyone know a date for the closure? We will be in DHS on the 10th and the animation class is on DD's must-do list.

My son will be upset if this is closed when we go. He loves the animation class! I also enjoy it myself, with so few attractions at HS I would hope they will keep this open until the fall at least to help with crowds during their Summer Fun event there.

Oh no!!! The animation class is our "must do" this year. Not sure about my 2 days THS now. I was planning a day of Animation/Fantasmic and another day with the Frozen Premium Pkg. I will check if I can move the package to the same day and go to MK instead.

I hope it opens again soon. There's not a whole lot left to do in that park otherwise. As impossible as it is for me to logically believe, it seems like Disney is trying to make DHS less appealing.

So the entire building will be shut down, we just discovered it last year and was hoping to explore more and do the class. Bummer.
We noticed Mr Incredible there last year, was that the spot taken over by Hiro and Baymax?
My kids really wanted to see them, I can't believe Disney doesn't have them anywhere else

Hiro and Baymax met where Vanellope and Ralph met. The Incredibles maintained their location until a few weeks ago.

Mickey and Minnie will be in new locations beginning the 13th.

We love the class and planned on taking it at least 4 times during our December trip!

I learned of Anamiation Academy fron the Dis and we have 3 vists planned first week of December, hope it is opened by then.

That's unfortunate! One of the things that my large party of children was looking forward to the most were the animation classes. It seems like every single time I log in here, I see that something else has gone away from DHS! My punishment, I guess, for taking so long to get my butt back to WDW!

I do hope that there is some news in the near future about the animation classes being relocated - or at least a re-opening date for the building.

Bummed hearing this news from several sources. We are going in August and I planned our day, including our FP+ and lunch ADR around 1 or 2 Animation Academy drawing classes.

Oh no. Now I'm totally regretting not doing the animation class before...it was definitely on our must do list for October. Crud.

What's this about the AoA class? Is it open to people not staying at AoA?
