Are all 3 of these "shows" still active? Which one do you get to draw a character? Which one *usually has Mickey, Cinderella, and Woody after?

TIA!

Animation academy is the one that teaches you to draw a character. We always see lots of characters in that main building each time we're there.
Last week we saw Cinderella, Minnie Mouse and Pluto

Here is a some info. on the "Drawn to the Magic" show where you can meet the characters afterwards. (character closeups). :

(Edited: wrong link....the link is below). :-)

Yes they are all still active. Animation Academy is every 1/2 hour on the 1/2 hour as is Turtle Talk with Crush.

I've only seen the characters in the building once recently but it was after the Drawn to the Magic show ended and then they came in the building. It worked out well for us as one of our favorite CMs (who also works the DV MnG) was working with the characters that day. We got a few quick picture with Mickey and headed out as the crowd came in. :goodvibes

ADDED-I found the pictures I took and know I remember that Mickey actually danced with DD9 and dipped her.

You can ask the CM at the entrance to Animation Academy who they are going to be doing and they can usually tell you the next few. Also ask them if they'll be doing a "special" one that day. They let one artist (a day) choose who they want to do. That's how we've gotten to do Jack the Pumpkin King twice (with 2 different artists.) Besides him we've done Mickey, Goofy, Donald, Piglet, and Tigger. They do others as well.

They had the theater where you set and draw a character, once I saw the animation show that is outside, Turtle Talk, and some maquettes and other stuff on display.

There is a roll through area where you can spin wheels to see things get animated and the one where you set and play a game on which character you are most like. Not sure the name but it was fun.

A group of us did it last weekend. The first character we did was Pooh. I went through it the next day and did Minnie and Piglet. This was at the Animation Academy.

These are our pics from the animation academy last week. The one with the shading next to it was the CM's that lead the presentation. Even my 5 year old did a pretty good job, you can still tell it's Goofy :)

That's in the Sorceror's Workshop. The game you play is in the Beast's Library and past the Library is Ursula's Grotto where you can add your voice (acting or singing) to a small animated clip.

Here are a few examples of what you learn to draw in AA. The class only takes 15-20 min. These were both done by my DD9.

And yes, the artist will usually give their drawing to someone in the audience.

Thank you for all the info! We went in that buliding last trip and no one seemed to know what I was talking about when I asked where were the characters! That is so strange.

Is Drawn to the Magic outside (near Monsters Inc.) or in the same building as Crush? Maybe that is what is confusing me....

My girls want to meet Woody so bad! And Cinderella is always a treat to meet! :)

It's usually in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot-Hollywood Backlot Stage. It's located across from Monster's Inc.

Drawn to the Magic is outside on the stage in the backlot near Monsters, Inc. When we were there, they had the close-up meet n' greets with characters immediately after the show outside near the stage. We made sure we got in line right as the show ended. My DS was chosen to go on stage with the person who was drawing Woody. He was asked to say a line from the movie like Woody would say and then he got to keep the drawing after the show. He was so excited to do this!

Crush is in the same building as Animation and on your right side.

Stand with your back to the Animation building. Across the street is FAirfax Market and Schmoozies. On the other side of that is a sit down area for shows that used to have a Goofy and Max show. On the far north side is the Monsters building. In the middle is the shops and to the far left of the courtyard/open-area is Muppets and on the far right is the defunct restaurant building and some restaurants like the catering truck. This is accessed on the east side's street and from a diagonal street from the main road in front of Animation Building.
