Animal Kingdon Lodge??

Cool. I just want to share that we had a Savannah View room and it wasn't all that great. So don't feel that you're missing out in that respect if that issue comes up. If I ever went back to AKL I would get a standard room. You really see the animals by going outside at the Lobby.

Last week we visited both resorts, so I can't tell you what the transportation is always like, but from what we experienced, the transportation to and from AKL was the worst out of all the resorts. We visited all except All-Stars and Caribbean Beach. We had to wait an extremely long time. The busses for Port Orleans appeared to come more often, but have to make a lot of stops, so it takes a long time. Also, the ride to and from Port Orleans was extremely long.

Another vote for AKL (check my sig). We loved it so much during our first visit that we will be staying there exclusively for many years to come. Two words to describe the lodge: magical & amazing.

Do the upgrade now and wait for codes to be released in the future. We've used a code each time we've stayed at AKL. The price of our standard-view room this trip will be $129 a night for 6 nights.

Funny, we thought the same. Maybe it was the heat (mid Sep) but we just did not spend much time on our balcony looking at the animals. Saw them plenty while walking down the hallway and loved the night-time viewing (did this at least 3 times).

I had figured DS6 would spend every available moment on the balcony......he didn't.....spent a lot of time in the room watching the same 6 Disney Classic cartoons though......

Having said this, we still loved AKL and will definitely stay there again. Just won't pay the extra for Savanah view.

DD watched those every day too!!!! Do they not get its the same cartoons?

Just my two cents on the bus issue. We didn't have too much of an issue with the buses BUT we did find that they didn't come nearly as often as the buses at POP did. One morning we waited from 7-7:40am for the "breakfast bus" to the MK. It never came. We eventually asked another bus driver to call as we had an ADR at the castle. We literally had to run from the bus stop all the way to the castle to get there in time
