Animal Kingdom's morning awakening

Just wondering if the Awakening of the animals is still part of the opening at AK? If so, anyone know if it is at 8 or 9 on its extra magic hour mornings? Thanks!

Just thought I would bump this again to see if anyone who just returned might know if the awakening of the animals is still part of the opening at AK and what time it happens on the park's early morning? Just trying to plan our Feb. trip. Thanks!

Just returned Friday from our wonderful trip. The awakening at the AK now takes place in front of the tree of life on Discovery Island. Mickey is standing in front of the tree up pretty high on a platform. They have all the animals in the small cases like they did at the entrance. There were more charaters on a double decker bus like the one at EPCOT to the right of the tree. They had lots of music and singing going on and then Mickey opens the park. It was really neat!! Hope this helps!!

Just discovered that Steve Soares updated his entertainment web site to reflect an earlier hour time for this event on early entry mornings. thanks Steve!

we went to AK last Monday. park opened at 9, early entry was at 8, and they didn't let the parking lot open until 7:40. by the time i parked and assembled the ecv, it was about 7:55 and people were already entering the park. if there was any kick-off, i missed it. if it's important to you, take a disney bus.

We went on early entry on Jan 16 and saw the Awakening. Pretty cute! They let you in the park, then everyone walks up to Tree of Life and they have ropes there. The show then starts (about 5-10 minutes long!). If you have little ones you'll have to hold them up to see, but the double-decker bus helps.
