We stayed at AKL for the first time this January. We had a wonderful time. It just feels so different than any other WDW hotel - and you can't beat seeing all of the animals right there!

My DH & I stayed there in September 2008 for 4 days for our 23rd wedding anniversary and we couldn't have chosen a better resort to celebrate at. DH chose it specifically for the relaxing atmosphere & the animals. We were upgraded at checkin to a room on the Sunset Savanna and it was beautiful. We actually saw more animals around the AKL than we did on the safari ride at AK. We loved that there was so much to do around the resort itself that if you didn't want to go to a park you really didn't have to. We loved the pool.........the bar & BOMA. Mara was great for a quick meal. The night vision goggles were great to use at night and we loved the CM's out on the savanna that knew so much about all the animals and everything going on around AKL. We wouldn't hesitate to go back there in a heartbeat! We had no issues at all with the buses, they were really quick to and from all the parks. Our worse bus situation ever has always been at POP.

We stayed at A.K.L last June, really enjoyed it and would go back. We didn't have any issues with the buses, loved watching the animals, learning about Africa, Jiko! and the overall atmosphere in general.

We are die hard AKL fans- we love it. We have stayed at many of the deluxes (BW, GF, WL etc) so we can compare. while there is no boat or monorail the bus service is far, far superior to the other deluxes that usually share a bus with 2, or 3 other resorts! Plus the whole ambience and theme is unbeatble imo...just can not get that anywhere else.

We LOVE AKL! We have toured all of the other deluxe resorts and have stayed at CSR. When I asked my kids if they wanted to try a different resort I got a big NO. After spending a very full day at the parks we like unwinding away from it all. Our kids (11 & 9) love all of the activities that the resort offers. AKL is one of the resorts that you want to spend at least a day just checking out the resort.
