Hello, Animal Kingdom Experts!

I plan to take my older daughter to AK one "highly recommended" (by easyWDW) July morning so she can ride those rides she can't when her little sister is with us.

That means, of course, we plan to do Expedition Everest, Primeval Whirl, Kali River Rapids, and Dinosaur.

If we plan to make rope drop and head straight into the park to experience these attractions, in which order should we do them so we move as quickly as possible? I would like to spend only a couple of hours so we can get back to AKL for a swim and a nap before heading to Epcot in the afternoon.

Thanks!

Do you care if you get soaked?????

Last time we did this we did

Expedition Everest
Dinosaur
whril
Kali

Because my hubby hates to walk around in wet shorts. lol

Thanks! Do you remember about how long it took you to do these?

I am not a huge fan of being soaked, but my daughter loves river raft rides. She has never done Kali, though. Kali is probably a good one to do last because we will then leave the park and head right around the corner to AKL for a swim. Or maybe since we might be on an air conditioned bus, are we better off doing Kali early so we aren't soaked and cold by the time we get on the bus?

I would wear a poncho.

Of these four, I think only EE and Kali are critical -- the max wait for the other two simply doesn't get as high, and is more "bouncy", i.e. if you're choosing between PW and Dinosaur and one is high, pick the low one and the other may be quite reasonable when you're done.

Personally I would do it like this:

1) Kali -- getting wet early in July is lovely and will help to stay cool
2) Kali -- you can usually do it twice early with little line, plus only one of the eight or ten is usually very wet, so this will give your daughter a better chance to be the one if she's into that. :-)
3) EE -- if the main queue is a bit longer because you rode twice on Kali, single rider should still be very efficient
4) Check wait times for Dinosaur & PW and see if you have time to ride EE again depending on the EE queue.
5) Assuming wait times for Dinosaur / PW are not too bad, I would ride PW and then Dinosaur, because that is more efficient from a map perspective. Also Dinosaur has AC in the latter part of the queue, so that will give you the most time to dry off after Kali (if you got very wet).

If you do Kali last and its a hot day you are going to run into a wait..

Most of the time it takes less then 2/3 hrs for us to just ride the hits at AK, but we go on crowd level day of 4 or less, we don't run to rides we also repeat rides if the line is less then 10/20 mins and we want too. And normally on our last ride which is always Kali. I stop for a grown up slushie.

Very easy :)

Kali, EE, PW and then Dinosaur...

In fact you may be able to ride all of those twice in 2 hours if really move it...

I would agree that EE and KRR are the top 2 to get to first. And as it is july doing KRR first or second won't be an issue, you will probably dry off fast. Hope you have a great time, sounds like a fun morning!

If you're looking for the fastest way to do it without backtracking a lot, I would do
EE, Kali, Primeval Hurl and then Dinosaur. If you're in the park at 9 am, I think you'll be done and heading out by 10:30.

I was there over Easter Week. We got to AK at Rope Drop, rode EE twice, walked on Dinosaur and PW. We passed Kali on our way to the K. Safari. Kali had a 10 minute wait at that point. We chose not to ride, even though it was hot, because we didn't want to get wet. We walked on the Safari as well.

We were there Easter week too, but our experiences are a little skewed because AK opened at 8 to everyone. Even though the park for packed later that day, an 8 am open allows for an extra prime touring hour
