Animal Kingdom to DTD

Does anyone know how long it would take to get from AK to DTD and what is the best way to get there.. Is there a bus from AK or a boat ride... We have reservations at TRex at 4pm... I have been trying to get a later time, but no luck!!!

We always leave an hour travel time unless we're going somewhere really close. From AK to DTD I believe you have to take a bus to a resort, then a bus from there to DTD.

There are no direct busses between AK and DTD, you would first have to take a bus to a nearby resort, for example AKL and then change in a DTD bus there.

Or take a bus to a resort close to DTD, for example SSR and then take the DTD bus there or you could walk from there as well.

Another nice but not very direct route would be a bus to OKW or PO and take the boat from there to DTD. But the boat will probably add another 30-45 min. to the trio, depending on how long you have to wait for the next boat.

The bus to SSR and walking is a popular option, as it removes the uncertainty of the 2nd bus wait. It's a 10-minute walk from SSR to DTD Marketplace, and probably another 5-10 minutes to T-Rex. Add up to 20 minutes wait for the bus at AK and about 20 minutes travel time, and 1 hour is about right. Get off at the Congress Park stop at SSR.

If you don't want to walk, busing to AKL is a good option, as there is no stopping at BB, and the bus from AKL to DTD takes a route which usually has less traffic. Allow 1 1/4 hours.

Getting to DTD from AK is time consuming since there's no direct route so this is one time when I would recommend a taxi. It will save a lot of time.

If you want to take a Disney Transport bus then I would recommend going on the bus to Saratoga Springs, getting off at the Congress Park stop and using the walkway to Downtown Disney.

However if you want to get there a lot faster then I would recommend taking a taxi and the small $ might be worth it.

Just wondering if you called Trex directly or are trying to get a later ressie time through Disney Dining? If you call up Trex directly, you usually have a better selection of times to choose from. Just wanted to give you that tip in case you didn't know. I don't have the # handy but you'll be able to find it on these boards.
