Animal Kingdom to Chef Mickeys

I'm getting ADR's set for our March trip and were planning on doing Chef Mickeys for a late dinner after our day at Animal Kingdom. How long is it going to take to get from Animal Kingdom to Chef Mickeys? What is the best way to get there from AK?

Disney bus to the contemporary is the way to get there. Whenever travelling on disney property always give 45 minutes

The only way to get there from AK, other than your own car or a taxi, is to take the Disney transportation bus from AK to the Contemporary.

If I plan on being done at Animal Kingdom at 6pm what time would you suggest making reservations at Chef Mickeys?

It depends on when you are going to Animal Kingdom. Starting in September the Animal Kingdom closes at 5pm - not 6pm. I would take into account the park closing time for your trip prior to making dinner reservations.

Also at closing time you might have to wait in line for a bus or two before you can get on a bus.

We'll be going in March of 2012..the actual day I'm looking at going is March 12th and AK closes at 7pm that night. Were going to go for EMH is the am and plan on leaving at 6pm before the park closes and then head to dinner at Chef Mickeys. I'm just trying to get things for the most part planned out so when my 180 day mark comes I can make my reservations.

Allow yourself at least 45 minutes for park to resort WDW transportation. If you are leaving AK around six you will probably be safe making the reservation from 6:45 - 7. The later you make it the more of a cushion you will give yourself for possible transportation delays.
