Animal Kingdom to Chef Mickeys

We will be at Animal Kingdom in August. The park closes at 8:00 the night we are there and we have 8:30 reservations at Chef Mickey's. We are driving our car. Can someone tell me what time we need to leave the park to arrive there by 8:30? How much time should we allow from park to car, car to the Contemporary, then to find parking. I was thinking we need to leave around 7:30. Can you all help?

I think you're right. I'd leave the gates of the park around 7:30-7:45.

The actual drive from AK to Contemporary is about 15 minutes. You've got to get from the AK turnstyles to your car, which could take 20 minutes (sometimes walking is faster than waiting for the tram). Once you arrive at the Contemporary, it won't take long at all to park and get inside, perhaps 5 minutes.
