My husband, me and our 2 1/2 year old will be going to Disney for our first family trip in May of this year! We are trying to sort out our dining reservations but can't decide between the Rainforest Cafe or Yak & Yeti for our table service meal while we are at Animal Kingdom. We have been told by one friend to go to one, while another friend told us to go to the other. Which one do you like the best and why? Help us decide! :)

For the TS for the young one at AK . . .
. . . Rainforest for animatronic
. . . Tusker for characters (bfast and lunch)

We really enjoyed our lunch at Yak and Yeti, but actually prefer the CS at Flametree BBQ. I won't eat at the RFC at AK for 2 reasons: 1. don't care for the food there. 2 its right by the main entrance which means a LONG hike from most places inside the park to get back there.

I agree with PP...the hike to Rainforest Cafe is a loooooong one and I don't think it's worth it for a lunch ADR at all and would only book it for dinner if we were eating there on the way out of the park.

We had a late breakfast seating at Tusker House with Donald and co. as our lunch meal last January and it was amazing! DH and the kids had an ice cream around 3 pm to tide them over until dinner but I was still quite full and was able to go right on to 5:30 pm on the buffet.

We have also eaten at Yak and Yeti and it was quite interesting and beautiful decor and we all enjoyed our meals.

If Tusker House doesn't interest you, I'd recommend Yak and Yeti.

I'm also going to vote for "neither" and direct you to the Tusker House, too. Excellent food, wonderful CMs, good selection, and characters at breakfast and lunch.

I have to agree with the others. We've dined twice at Yak and have not been impressed. RFC is not only a long hike, but the food is uninspired.

Tusker has great variety and characters.

Another vote for Tusker House. We really enjoyed lunch there.

Yak & Yeti is my least favorite meal I've ever had in WDW.

RFC would probably keep your childs attention better, but Tusker has the best food IMO. Isn't Tusker now a charater meal for lunch, too?

I wouldnt eat at RC either. We gave it another try last year and it was just ok. Not sure why everybody dislikes Yak & Yeti so much. We really enjoyed our lunch there last year. It was an easy choice for us to make reservations again in August.

To me RC is a lot like Planet Hollywood...you go there for the experience and hope you still have some hearing left at the end. It is okay, but...

Tusker house is IMHO good! Not Spectacular, but better than okay. Just an option but what about doing counter service for lunch them bussing over to AKL for the buffet at Boma?

We love Tusker House!!! Do not like RFC or Yak and Yeti - We would do a late lunch at Tusker House if possible!

I'm going to have to side with all the Tusker House people. But it you are dead set against it, go with Yak & Yeti.

We have eaten Dinner at Tusker and luch at Yak and Yeti. Definitely prefer Yak and Yeti. No questions asked.

We love the Yak & Yeti! The food was very good.

Haven't been to RC, we are trying it for the first time in September

Since you have a almost 3yr old my picks are in order.
1) Tucker House it is a character Lunch.
2) RF Cafe it is a cool place with the BEST desert on porpety. The Flaming Volcano is a must.
3) I would eat at Flame Tree BBQ (whick I happen to like) and feed the ducks before I ate at Yak (the name says it all) and Yetti

We loved Yak & Yeti so much during our trip last week that we cancelled another ADR to eat there a 2nd time. Food AND service was amazing both times. Very consistent.
