Can someone in the know give me a bit of info on what the Value Studio is at AK.

How many people per room? What is the location? What is the view?

Thanks in advance!!!

I am wodering the same thing. We stayed in the Savannah view 2 years ago at The main Lodge, but we are going on a cruise next year, and will only de there 4 days before, so I am considering the value - because of the value!

A value studio only sleeps four. They are located in the two trails that extend out from the entrance of the main lobby. The view will be either parking lot, pool or savanna. You can request a view, but it will not be guaranteed.

Is it 4 only, or 4 plus 1 child under 3?

it is 4 plus a child under 2 (I think)

this room compared to the standard view is definitley smaller.

so would think twice about even putting 4 people in this room.

now 2 adults and 2 kids - should be okay.

but 4 adults - it would be crowded. or even 2 adults and 2 teens - might be crowded.

How about 2 adults (in 1 bed) and 2 porta cribs?

You'll never get two pack and plays in the room unless you don't open up the sleeper sofa. And then you will fill the room anyway.

The bed will be queen sized. The sleeper sofa only double.

One of the issues with the Value rooms is that the furnishings in AKV are so large that the Value rooms are jam packed even before you add people and suitcases, let alone trying to set up even one pack'n'play.

The room measures about 315 sq. ft. total, comparable to a room at POFQ. Non-value studios @ Jambo measure about 50 sq. ft. more, so take about 3 1/2 feet off the depth of those rooms to compare to a value studio.

If you book a Dedicated Value Studio @ Jambo you will have either a Sunset Savanna view or a Uzima Pool view (there are 4 Dedicated Value Studios available for each view). If you have book a Lockoff studio, you will have savanna, pool, or parking lot view.

I believe can accomodate 4 plus 1 child under 3 (or 2), most folks said the crib had to be set up in the kitchenette area with the sleeper opened.

I didn't even know there was a value studio!

I stayed in one of the value studio in Jan. It was great for my sister and I, but with the sofabed open it was tight. We had to put the coffee table in the hallway by the connecting door. The big bed pillow are hard to find a place for, the suggestion I have hear is put them on top of the wardrobe.

We just came back from Animal Kingdom Lodge and stayed in a Value Ded studio. We were very happy with it. Although it was only my husband and myself, we found it just big enough. I would not want to stay in that room with 4 people however. We had a pool view and loved it.

I've got a value studio booked for October. Here's some pictures I took of the view, then of comparing the size of the value studio to the standard-

Dedicated Value studios at AKV Jambo are DVC's best bargain. The pack n play fits between the bed and the sofa. I would definitely try to get the dedicated value studio because of the full closet where the connecting door would be in a lockoff and the guarantee of a non parking lot view. That being said, it is one of the toughest reservations to get because there is only 8 total available.

Not all of the dedicated studios in Jambo House have a closet. I think more than 50% of them do have one but there are a few that do not. But as you stated, the biggest reason to book the dedicated over the lockoff is to avoid the parking lot view!
