My wife to be and I had booked our honeymoon for the AKL from 9-4-07 to 9-10-07. It is the first time that I have ever been there and she hasn't been since she was little. We were very excited to stay at the lodge with a Savannah View but then things changed. After reading some of the post from other members, I decided to call and see what was going on. They informed me that they are doing construction on the inside of the building and it is supposed to be finished on Sept. 1st. Then they will be moving outside. Now we are going on our honeymoon so we wanted a little more peace and quite. The cast member on the phone was more that understanding and said we could voluntary move at no additional cost. We had the choice of any resort but the CR. We chose the Poly with a water view. I glad that they were so willing to work with us and help to make our honeymoon even more magical.

It is good that Disney has allowed so many guests to change rooms to other resorts. Make sure you go back to AKL one day. It is fantastic.

Have a wonderful honeymoon. While I do like AKL, I LOVE the Poly and think it would be so romantic for a honeymoon.

What number did you call? Did you ask to speak with guest services?

I called today and asked about construction. They said it is being completed in phases and "don't know" when which rooms will be affected, that they won't know until late next month! At which time, we will be informed if we have to move, but we cannot "request" to move.

Can you help me? We are checking in 9/14 for our honeymoon as well, and I don't want to stay if it's going to be noisy with construction.

I just called the Animal Kingdom and told them about my concerns since we were checking on the 4th. They said that they were willing to move me at no extra charge due to the close proximity to the finish date and they might not be done. After the 1st, the construction is to move outside and they will have to stop at night, so if you will be gone in the morning you should have nothing to worry about. Call central reservations and see what they can do for you.
