I am not extremely familar with trying to do rides/shows at Animal Kingdom as far as what to do first etc. and would just like some advice on this. This is according to the Unoffical Guide, non EMH day

9:00 Kilimanjaro Safari
It's Tough to Be a Bug
10:30 Flights of Wonder
11:45 Festival of the Lion King

I'm only having trouble planning these couple.

The Unofficial Guide swears that this is the best way. According to Steve Soares' website time schedule, there is a Festival of the Lion King show at 9:45 and Flights of Wonder at 10:30 and 11:30. I'm afraid that in mid July, the Festival of the Lion King show might be pretty crowded at 11:45 and perhaps I should try to get there at 9:45 and then do Flights of Wonder after.

THEN my problem is trying to make it all the way over from Kilimanjaro Safari to Lion King in about 35 minutes. I'm sure there's also a way to work FP's in all of this too. Sorry this is so "commando" sounding.

Usually don't do this anymore, but I want to get as much in as possible for neice and nephew. Mostly though, for the the least amount of waiting in the heat. I've only been to AK once actually when it first opened. Always seems to get put on the back burner, so I'm not too familiar with the park, except that it's big!!!

Hi ~ Whatever you do just be sure you go to AK on an 'early' day so you can do the Safari first! That's a for sure! And as for the crowds, timing is everything! Good luck and have fun!

Personally, I would hit the safari early b/c in July the animals are not moving around lots during the afternoon. That's probably one reason they say to go at 9am b/c it's cool out still and the animals are moving around so you get to see more. We went last july. It was crowded. The Lion King show we saw around 1145. Most people start to get lunch by then so the show was crowded but we walked up 10 minutes before and got good seats. I don't think there is a bad seat in the house for the Lion King Show. Also don't forget that almost all the things you listed have fast pass. So plan to do a fast pass for something and then go and do something else.

good luck

Thanks daisy, my main worry was the Lion King show being crowded at 11:45 and if you say it's not bad, I'll just trust ya!!! PrincessCandiceMarie, we can't make it on EMH day, but we do plan on getting there for 9:00 opening and doing the safari first thing.

Do the safari, then head towards Bug. If you have to make the next LK show, get a FP at bug and go to the LK show, otherwise, just see Bug and head to the next LK show.

Even if you miss the first LK show, the statium is very large and about all seats offer good views.

The Flights of Wonder show is never crowded and can be picked up whenever convenient (note that they don't usually have a lot of shows, though).

Hi Eeyore2003,

Thanks for reading the Unofficial Guide. For what it's worth, we target the peak summer season when creating the Guide's touring plans, as we know that's when most people go.

That being said, the ordering in which you have the attractions is not what's listed in my 2004 Unofficial Guide. I'm not going to post corrections here - and please don't do so - as the touring plans are copyrighted, and sales of the book is what allows us to keep doing research. But if you (or anyone else) would like some private advice on the touring plan, feel free to drop me a line: testa@ncat.edu.

Thanks again for reading the Guide!

Sincerely,

Len Testa
