Animal Kingdom on a Sunday?

It's been 8 years since our last visit. I've made our fastpasses using Josh's crowd calendar. We are planning on Animal Kingdom on Sunday, May 1st. Our previous trips, I used Touring Plans, but everyone here has said how much they like Josh, so that's what I went with. I really like he's reasoning and explanations. I just checked Touring Plans, and they have that day at a 8 for Animal Kingdom. Big difference. For us, AK tends to "feel" more crowded, so I would like to be there on a less crowded day. My gut is telling me to stay with Josh, but that #8 is really bugging me. Why is an 8? So I guess I'm asking, what do we do??

I stick with Josh.

I used to use touring plans, but a few years ago, they changed something and they just weren't as accurate anymore. Josh has never steered me wrong.

I would stop checking touring plans.

Touring plans mostly uses historical data, while Josh mostly uses common sense. I would go with common sense. Last year AK had EMHs on Sundays, now AK EMHs are on Sat. and Mon. That may be why touring plans data may be off. With that being said, Rivers of Light will have just opened, so Sunday may be more busy than say Tue., Wed., or Thur. Sunday won't be as bad as Sat., but I would say Tue., Wed., and Thur. will be less crowded while school is still in session. I would stick with Sunday, unless you can easily switch your FPs and ADRs.

I'm guessing they are expecting a big draw for Rivers of Light on the weekends especially since it only opens just over a week prior. How does it compare to the crowd levels for the other parks that day? In general we've always gone with AK or HS on weekends over Epcot or MK and so far we've never been sorry with that choice.
