Animal Kingdom meals?

Hey all--

Just wondering what people do for meals when they go to Animal Kingdom--do you eat in the park? It seems that the food in the resort/hotel is better, but is it readily accessible from the park? We would likely have a car there, but I'm trying to figure out whether it will take too long to leave the park to go to Jiko's or something for lunch...

Akl is only a hop, skip and a jump from AK. I say go for it! Everyone seems to like Boma and Jiko's.

Stay in AK! They have the best counter service of any of the parks. Tusker House is especially good.

If you really want to eat at AKL it really is right next door so with a car it isn't far at all.

This is one park where we all actually like the food! Tusker House, as has been mentioned, is very good. We also thought Flame Tree Barbeque was very good, and the cost for both was reasonable. Frozen bananas were good, too!

Jiko and Boma are both closed for lunch.

How silly of me. It never even occurred to me that they would be closed for lunch. I guess Tusker or Flame it is! Maybe we'll try getting those meal vouchers and see how that works.

Whilst we are in Ak we like to have a nice breakfast at Donald's Restonasaurus and then either a counter service lucnh in Flame Tree BBQ or table service in Rainforrest Cafe. Park closes early enough to allow you to take advantage of one of the fabulous resort restaurants.

Is lunch served at Donald's? Is it any good?

We also really enjoyed Flame Tree on our last trip. They offered a fruit plate that was just perfect for my fruit-loving DD's lunch.
