Hi all,

Can you tell me the best places to try to get a cheap deal on the AKL?

Thanks

Gemma

Buy an annual pass and keep your fingers crossed for a great AP discounted rate. Saved me a fortune when I stayed at AKL a couple of years ago.

If you book through DreamsUnlimited your assigned agent will try their hardest to apply any discounts that become available right up until payment is due. If you plan to get an AP (you don't actually need the AP when you book, just when you check-in)the DU agent will get you the AP as soon as they are released.

I used them for our last trip to WDW last August and my agent. Carole, was really helpful - even booked our PS reservations for us (saves on the phone calls to the US :) ).

sorry whats an AP?

Thanks for your help :wave2:

AP = Annual Pass.

Walt Disney World annual passholders are eligible for discounted rates at on-site hotels that become available from time to time. So-called AP rates can be significantly cheaper than the standard, or rack, rate that you will be quoted by WDW. I've had up to 40% discounts when staying at a couple of the moderate range on-site hotels. Disney does not guarantee that they will offer AP rates as they only offer discounts if they have unbooked rooms to be filled. However, I've always been able to obtain AP rates for each of my WDW visits even though I travel during the school holidays.

If buying annual passes is not appropriate for your entire family only the person who books the room needs to have an AP to be eligible for AP rates.

ok thanks, whats the going rate for an annual pass?

I suppose this would benefit you in the long term, are they transferrable or do they have a photo on them?

The APs come in two versions: Standard ($392) and Premium ($520). Standard APs include unlimited admission to the four main theme parks, while the Premium pass adds the water parks, Pleasure Island, World of Sports.

APs are not transferable. Although they do not have a photo on them they do require a biometric reading from your fingers when you enter the turnstiles.

We get two holidays from our annual passes, spaced 11.5 months apart. If you think you might take more than one Disney holiday in a 12 month period you will save lots of $$$s buying APs.

Rob
