going to akl for 8 nights in july with 6 year old twins,any advice or tips as it will also be their birthdays while away ? we did not get a savanna room,i think it is garden..would be interested to hear about anything that would help..

Love the AKL. You can still get good views of the animals thru many of the observation areas. Also sometime the keepers do a feed and Q&A.

I think they can get a birthday button at guest services.

Unless they really like to sleep together, get the bundbed rooms. Last time we stayed there, DD and DS took turns sleeping on top. My two just do better in separate beds.

Make sure to check out all the special things at the hotel. AKL has night viewing of animals with night-vision glasses. Also kids activities like decorating cookies, etc.-very fun and yummy. You can get great views of the animals all over the resort-the pool area is great giraffe viewing.
