***Animal Kingdom Lodge Wedding***

Does anyone know exactly where the ceremony is held at the Animal Kingdom Lodge?

I think it's on a large balcony overlooking the savannah... When not used for weddings, I think it's one of those nook and crannies that have a bunch of rocking chairs on them for guests to come and relax. Not 100% positive though!

not sure for definate but i heard that they stopped doing weddings at the AK lodge cos they had problems with a certain "smell" coming from the savannah!!! think they underestimated how much poo smells in the florida heat!

I guess I need to find out about the smell thing. I just have my heart set on getting married there. They still have the location advertised on the site. But thanks for your responses. I'm hoping if it's not by the savannah, they can accommodate us in maybe another location at AKL.

I also heard that they've stopped doing weddings there as of this year. They typically seem slow in updating their site to reflect changes like that. AKL would've been my second choice for a location if they hadn't have stopped as that was where we were engaged.

The weddings took place on Arusha Rock, which is right outside of the main lobby, its the main viewing area. It is true that they stopped doing weddings there after this year, but not because of the smell, (you can't smell anything, especially from there) the lodge no longer wanted weddings done there because it caused the area to be cut off to hotel guests. I had also thought of it as a location.
