I am sorry if these have all been asked before but the new AKL/Villa thread is confusing me. We have booked a standard room at the AKL. Do all standard rooms have a balcony? Is there a first floor, or do all the rooms regardless of level start on the 2nd floor? Can anyone tell me what "trail" or area or room numbers have ALWAYS been non-smoking? I realize that the entire resort is now non-smoking but I was wondering which parts have always been considered non-smoking. Last but not least;) we will be checking in around 10:00pm should I ....a. call the resort and let them know?
b. does this hinder my chances of receiving my request?

Thank you for all your help!:thumbsup2 :goodvibes

I believe all the rooms have balconies.. I haven't stayed in all of them to know for sure, but so far everywhere I have stayed has :D

There is a lobby level floor, which is actually the 3rd floor, but if you are trying to avoid using the elevators, then that's where you would probably want to be.

Sorry, I don't know about the other stuffs you asked :D

I found the layout at AKL confusing. The restaurants are on different levels than the lobby.

I don't think a late check in will hinder you getting your room requests because room assignments are made long before you arrive. Just make sure it's noted on your reservation. I would have them note the late arrival, but I don't know if it's necessary or not.
