Animal Kingdom Lodge Questions

Is it worth going over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge for some drinks or maybe for a meal for the scenery? I have heard so many great things, and I really want to check it out, do they have a bar in there?
ALSO.... does AKL have any character breakfast's??

Yes it is very worth it. We like Boma (african buffet). They also have a sitdown restaurant that gets great reviews

AKL does not, but AK has Donald's breakfastosaurus.

Both trips we have had a late breakfast (10:10 or so) at Donald's and just had a snack in the park for lunch.
The first trip AKL was not open yet, and we headed to DTD for dinner.
this last trip we had a PS for Boma about 45min after AK closed. We took WDW transportation from AK to AKL. It was still light enough out that we were able to enjoy watchign the animals after we had dinner. If you go when it gets dark earlier you might want to leave time to go outside before dinner.

Hi there...

AKL has a beautiful bar/lounge "Victoria Falls"... I think if you are not interested in a big meal.. just to look around the hotel and have a nice cocktail - this is a great place to go.

There is also a pool bar..... and of course the buffet restaurant Boma and the full service restaurant Jiko..

i would definitely go
we arrived an hour before our ps for boma and just walked around. it was perfect timing--they were feeding dinner to the animals and they really get close. the lodge is really pretty and there is a lot to see.

The food here alone would be worth the trip even without the animals. I cannot recommend highly enough going over to the lodge and having dinner at either Boma or Jiko, though I must give the favorite nod to Jiko. Victoria Falls has some great drinks and the entire atmosphere is so relaxing. Also give yourself plenty of time to just walk around and look at the animals. There are plenty of little viewing areas where you can just sit and watch the animals. This place is what the magic is all about.

Even if you are there after dark, you can find a CM with night-vision goggles to see the animals in the dark!
Both Jiko (sit down) and Boma (buffet) are fantastic. You will love it! GO!

Yes - well worth a visit. We stayed off-site but visited AKL for a meal at Boma - recommended by DIS members and we weren't disappointed. It was our 35th wedding anniversary. We went early and enjoyed animal feeding time, then had our meal. Afterwards we took some really photos in the lounge area, they came out really well and will be treasured memories of a lovely evening. We loved the food.

We let the staff know it was our anniversary and there were some really nice touches to make it a memorable evening.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend a visit.
