Hi! I've been looking for an answer to this but have come up with nothing. Maybe it's simple and I just haven't figured it out yet. Please help!

I want to book a 2 bedroom villa at AK but I don't think they (DVC Villas) will be done by Aug. 2008. IF they are would they be considered concierge? I am particularly interested in the sunrise safari and food tour that they offer but I understand you have to be staying in a concierge room to do those things.

If not, then I should probably go ahead and book 2 studios savanah view? I think the regular 2 bedroom villas would be too expensive.

We are planning on going the end of August to celebrate our 25th anniversary and I would like to do something special by surprising DH with the tours.

Thanks so much for your help!!!

Ok, I am still learning so i don't have all the answers.

1)All the DVC rooms at the AKL old building (Jambo) with be complete by May 2008. The new building is 2009.
2) They will offer all types of rooms including a concierge option on some rooms.
3) I have no idea of prices. I know the website is starting to offer the rooms but errors out when I try to prices. I would call reservations and ask.
4) You might want to think of 2 studio concierges. MAY be cheaper than a 2-bedroom concierge.

That is all I know. Hope that gets you started until someone can finish my answer.

The way I understand it, is you'd need to book a concierge villa in the main building (Jambo House). That portion of the construction was due to be completed at the end of January 2008, so you could realistically book a 2 bedroom concierge villa for August. I just don't know when they'll be opening up reservations to the general public.

You can check out this link for some more information, http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/akv.htm .

Unless you are a DVC member at AKV or can rent points from an AKV owner I vey much doubt you will get any of the DVC concierge villas as there are only 5 2 bedroom lockoffs on. I belive you can still get concierge rooms at AKL though on a lower floor.

You won't get a DVC two bedroom concierge room unless you own points at AKV. They won't go for cash because they will be gone too quickly. You can, however, reserve a regular concierge room from CRO if that is what you want.

Just curious about this. Does Disney make more on a cash sale or points? If cash, do you think that Disney will keep a few concierge units out of member inventory and available only for cash reservations?

Disney would obviously make more money from cash but at this moment in time as there are only five 2 bedroom lockoffs in concierge I very much doubt it as that was a selling point for DVC. But there is still concierge rooms on the 4th floor of the lodge for anyone to pay cash for and they still have use of the lounge.

THANK YOU!!!! That's exactly what I needed to know. I did NOT know that only AK DVC members could get rooms in the villas. Good to know!

I will book two concierge rooms.

Again, thanks so much.

Anyone can book a DVC villa for cash through CRO, but not all villa types/locations are available since they are in short supply and hot property for members. Like Boardwalk view villas at the BWV - so many members want these, that they will probably never be available for cash. When you only have 5 two bedroom lockoffs (five one bedrooms and five studios or five two bedrooms or any combination thereof), they will be booked for points immediately at 11 months ahead of time.

Thanks for the responses. I was especially curious since Disney took away all the one room options for familes of 5 at the AKL (those previous "deluxe" category rooms). I guess it puts them more in line with WL now.

Does concierge in the original building still have rooms for 5? Please say yes!!
No they don't, that's why I asked the question about the 2 bedroom units. Although I think I heard that maybe the 1 bedroom units in AKL would accomodate 5. All the larger deluxe rooms were taken for the new DVC's.

When I called last week the cm said there would still be rooms for five that were not DVC. I wasn't ready to book yet but was planning on it. The cm was wrong? Andybody else know? (Not to doubt you Tammi, but you know how often different cm say different things!)

Hey, I hope you're right and there are some deluxe concierge rooms for 5 still available. We're a family of 5 and I would love to get a chance to stay there in one room. Other people have reported that they removed them all for DVC, but maybe they have others (not on the club level floor) that will be re-coded and come with concierge access.

Tammi, you're right.....most 1 BRs will accommodate 5 ( and 2 BRs> 9 people) in Jambo. If booking through DVC, you will know which size you have and will use points accordingly. Not sure how it will work with DRC.

A 2 BR occupies the same space as 3 previous deluxe rooms and a one BR takes two pods.

I agree with Deb that concierge villas will be very hard to book...think CRT but worse IMO. We booked two short stays for next year but know the odds of that happening again are slim as more people buy AKV. We'll enjoy it while we can.
