I had heard or read somewhere that one of the benefits of staying at AKL in the concierge level is that they have some kind of early morning tour to see the animals shortly after they have been sent out and prior to AK opening up. Is that correct? If so, is it every day, do you need to reserve in advance, etc...? Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Limited to Concierge guests...departs at 6:30am two days a week (Tue and Sat?) and is $39.95/person, which includes breakfast at the Tusker House. Truck stops along the way and you can stand up to take pictures. Lasts about 45 minutes.

We did the AKL concierge last year....within two months of a Poly concierge stay. When we go concierge again it will be AKL for sure.

The Sunrise Safari was great. he safari part was around 45 minutes, but the liesurely drive over there was through alot of backstage areas. It really also included a tour of these areas that I found at least as interesting as the actual safari ride.

I thought I remembered it being a little more than $39, I am thinking $49. The safari itself was also nice, much more liesurely, much more information and just very pleasent.

Breakfast at the Tusker house was also fantastic.

Our next concierge stay will be at AKL and include the Sunrise Safari again for sure.

We are doing it next trip. Current price is $49.95 per person. You can book it once you have your concierge room booked. Great concierge staff up there to help make the trip memorable.

Just want to add that we did this last summer and it really was worthwhile. The animals are in their glory in the early morning and we saw TONS. The tour was very relaxed, with the driver stopping constantly for photo ops. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and are able to answer any question. The breakfast at Tusker House was superb.

I thought I'd also heard that there was an evenning safari for concierge guests, too. Is that correct?

There is a new sunset safari that includes dinner at Jiko it is $150 per person. We have not done this yet but when I called to booked the sunrise safari the other day the woman I spoke to gave me the details on the sunset safari as something else to consider.

We did the sunrise safari in Feb of this year and it was amazing. The best $100 we have ever spent.
