We are leaving in 3 weeks and I am trying to plan out the vacation. I didn't think we needed to devote more than a day to Animal Kingdom if that. When dh & I went on our honeymoon 6 years ago, we weren't all that psyched by that park anyway. Not sure if there will be much to hold my dd (4) & ds(2) attention. I remember the Tough to Be a Bug show and the safari were cool.. Other than that, not much else sticks out. She would probably enjoy the Pocahontas show too. Just wanted some feedback from the other moms and dads that have done this park with their little ones. Thanks

Don't miss the Festival of the Lion King show! Our DD (18 months at the time) loved this show and so did we. She also liked the Triceratops Spin (I think that's the right name, basically AK's version of Dumbo). We also all enjoyed the parade, don't miss it if you're planning on being in the park in the late afternoon.

My DS was 2 and a half when we went and he loved AK. He really enjoyed the safari best. He was very scared during the Tought to be a Bug attraction though. We will not be taking him back to that when we go in Jan. We did just about everything in one day but we also went during value season when it wasn't very crowded.

We took our DGS last Dec when he was just over 3yo. He loved AK. You should also consider Tarzan Rocks for your 4yo, the Pochahantas show at camp Minnie Micky for your 2yo, and Flights of Wonder for both. They might also enjoy Kali River if they don't mind getting wet.

Sorry I remembered he also LOVED the train ride. You can ride the train over to where there is a petting zoo.

Our 2.5 yo dd and almost 5 yo ds loved AK in May. They went on Triceratops spins several times, willingly stood around and waited for Lucky (I'm so sorry he has only one week left at AK!), loved all of the shows, rode Safari several times, and just enjoyed looking around. Ds especially enjoyed riding Kali with his older brother and dd. Also, lines to see the characters were very short (except during evening EMH.) It was so hot during on our visit (When isn't it hot at AK???), that we made short visits on several different days. I would visit AK early in your stay just to see if the kids will want to make subsequent visits.

I have to agree that my ds (4) loved this park and actually said it was his favorite. It was not as crowded and didn't have the long lines like Magic Kingdom. We always spend more time at Magic Kingdom but a lot of that time is waiting for Dumbo, Pooh, etc.

My DD was 3 when we went. We actually stayed all day and still missed some things. Wish we had gotten a 7 day pass intead of 4. All of us LOVED AK and can't wait till our next trip. Too bad it's so far away (boo-hoo).

You'll probably just need one day at Animal Kingdom. Don't miss the Boneyard. Couldn't drag out five year old granddaughter out of there. And she absolutely loved Flights of Wonder. After the show, the kids are allowed to go up to the stage and interact with the trainers and the birds. It's a very nice presentation. Just put your kids on the aisle since they will really get close with the birds.

This is my husbands and kids favorite park. The theming is really neat, walk around and read the signs of the different animals. When we first started going kids were 2.5 and 6. Last trip 7 and 11. It's much better than when it first opened. We were there then and though enjoyed it, thought that they opened it too early.

Oh, thank you all soooo much. This makes me feel one hundred times better about going to AK.... Looking foward to it much more now. :bounce:

My DD is 4 and she absolutely loved AK. This was the park that we got to meet the most Characters at. She absolutely loved seeing all the animals and she was tall enough to ride the River rapids ride with her brother which totally made her day.

When DS was 4 his favorite thing at AK was the talking tree wandering around the entrance! That was so funny. He was also tall enough for Kali River, and loved it.

My dd3 is a scaredy cat and this was definately a fun park for her. She liked the Safari ride, The Jungle Trek...where she saw "Bambi"...shhh don't tell her it wasn't:ssst:. She LOVED Flights of Wonder as did my 8 yo who volunteered. The kids liked breakfast with Donald and eating at Tusker House which had great food. My dd3 was too short for Kali River Rapids, though. Festival of the Lion King was scary at first to dd3 because everything is so big and loud but, we talked her through it. After seeing Pocahontas and her forest friends, though; she absolutely couldn't stop singing "Colors of the Wind".

Camp Minnie Mickey would be a great place for them to meet characters without having the swarms of people and line-ups you get elsewhere. Also as someone else mentioned, they should have a great time at the Boneyard playground!
