I have a friend going to Disney World and would like to know which fast pass selection would be best. She has two small children and they are not interested in Mt. Everest or River Rapides. What about SAfari and Dinosaur. Any suggestions?

The Safari for sure, early in the morning, the animals are more active. Depending on ages of children Dinosaur is great, but is dark and can be scary. I would either Fast Pass Festival of the Lion King or Finding Nemo-the Muscial. For the last one (if Dinosaur is a no-go) it might be fun to Fast Pass the Meet the Disney Pals at Adventures Outpost :)

Definitely the safari and at least one of the shows, if not both! You don't say how old the children are, but Dinosaur is considered by many to be the jerkiest, scariest ride in WDW, so I would proceed with caution on that one.

To be honest, Dinosaur was the scariest ride for me personally. It's a bunch of animatronic Dinosaurs, but you can't really see where they are in the dark until you're right up next to you. It's a neat ride, and I really like it, but it is a little scary in my opinion. The Safari is great for any age, so I definitely recommend that.

Dinosaur is a ride that I won't take my daughter on (9), but she loves Everest. It's a different kind of intense. Very loud and not a lot of fun IMO.

The kids are 9 and 6. Sorry I forgot to mention that. Like the advice from all. Will do Safari and at least one of the shows.

You can fastpass "Flights of Wonder" now, I think that is a great show and if the kids like birds would emjoy it. Just another idea.

Personally, I wouldn't FastPass Flights of Wonder because the theater is seldom full to the point that no one else can get in. And even if the kids don't "like" birds, it's a wonderful show that I think is a must do for everyone. The only people I would advise not doing Flights of Wonder are people who are absolutely scared of birds but you can't walk around Disney World without seeing birds so it's pretty much a must do for everyone.

Another option without FastPasses for kids of that age is Rafiki's Planet Watch. Again, no FastPass needed and a nice break from things. And they can possibly pet a fuzzy pig!

I'm 50 and that Dinosaur scares me every time! Definitely wouldn't take young children on it.

For us, Safari and EE (which they don't want to do) are the only things we bother to use our FP+ on at AK. DD(9) doesn't care for the Rapids(doesn't like getting soaked) or Dinosaur (frankly I don't care for Dinosaur either). We have FP+ Lion King and Nemo, but our FP+ have never seemed to fit in our schedule so we haven't actually used those FP+ . Unless they are going at a high crowd time, they probably won't have much trouble getting in those shows without FP+, but FP+ may get them better seats. The FP+ line enters first at LK (or at least it did last time we were there). I would say FP+ Safari, Lion King, and if they want to see it, Nemo.

There just aren't many Fast Pass options AT AK (that you really need a FP for) besides Safari and EE and Kali. The rest are shows or small rides you don't need to waste a FP on.

So I would FP:
1) Safari
2) Lion King or Nemo
3) Dinosaur .. it is scary .. but it is supposed to be .. Kids that age will survive it. :)

I find Dinosour really scary and im 18! I love scary and intense rides but that one is loud, dark and and the dinosours are huge haha! I still enjoy going in but Im not sure a 6 or 9 year old will, unless they're really into dinosours or scary rides :) its still a fun ride though

Safari is one I would automatically FP +. If Rivers of Light is up at the time of their trip, I would consider that as well especially in the first couple of months after opening.

I would absolutely NOT take a six year old on Dinosaur. I think it is scary for a 9 year old too, it is VERY loud as well as dark.

I have never seen the value of wasting a FP on Nemo or Lion King. You need to arrive just as early as the stand by people. (Even earlier in some cases). There are plenty of seats.

If your little one likes characters use the FP to meet Mickey.

My kids loved Kali River Rapids from as early as they were tall enough (3 or 4). There is nothing scary about it.

The safari is a must do.

Just saw their ages. 9 and 6 might like Primeval Hurl....I mean Whirl.

I also think that when they get there and see EE they might change their minds.

Remind your friend that she can change FP selections on the App if the kids see something that interests them after they arrive.

I would even encourage her to play with modifying FP using the app now, so that she feels comfortable with the app when she is there

Festival of the Lion King: no advantage with FP+.

Finding Nemo the Musical: a BIG advantage with FP+.
(I won't go see Nemo without having a FP+.)
