My just barely a teenager, wants to visit the Animal Kingdom. What would be a perfect day at the AK? Any tips? Little known attractions or sites? What would make a great day at the AK?

Probably more of a question of what NOT to do, since most of the park is great for teens.

The only things we don't do with my DD 13 are Pocahontas, Camp Minnie Mickey, and the train ride to Rafiki's Observation Station. Although, if your teen is interested in veterinary medicine, that might be good too.

Aside from the rides and shows (Tarzan is a good show for young teens -- lots of guitars and roller blading), the face painters located in between Tusker House and the entrance to the Safari have cool designs for boys or girls. I think it cost $12-14. There are also some caricature artists located outside one of the gift shops near the Tree of Life -- they put your face on an animal's (you pick) body. I think they do a great job and it makes a wonderful keepsake of the day ($30 I think). The Kali River Rapids will probably be a big hit also, so wear clothes that dry out quickly!

The caricature artist thing is a great idea. I forgot about that. They also might like doing that at MGM where they can pick a super hero they like. I've never done the train ride to the animal vet place - we might work that in since we haven't done it before.
