Recently, I saw a picture where construction is continuing on the Skyliner at Animal Kingdom. Once complete, what is everyone's thoughts on this being a "game changer" for the Animal Kingdom DVC resort? There will now be (2) modes of transportation to be used.

Thoughts?

Curious where you saw pictures of that! Would love to see that.

I own at AKV because I love it there and I love seeing the animals. But the Skyliner would be a huge plus for me too. I really enjoyed them when I used them in March. Not a game changer for me as I already own there and love it. AKV is the reason I became a DVC member so I could stay at AKV all the time.

What ever picture you saw was NOT Skyliner construction at DAK or AKL/AKV. Only construction at DAK is for bag check and the parking lot tram.

There are no Skyliner expansion plans at this time, and no contracts out with Doppelmayr, which would be a hard requirement to expand the Skyliner.

Not to mention, the bus only takes about 8 minutes from door to door, so what purpose would the Skyliner serve at AKV if it's not making transportation any faster?

CBR to Studios and Epcot were close to the same, but Skyliner means no waiting for buses, and less costs long term I imagine in running the skyliner than in running buses. I'd be all for a Skyliner and a good walking trail, personally!

When the Skyliner is in operation, bus service between Epcot & DHS and the Skyliner resorts is reduced to hourly. Plus, there are quite a few more hotels rooms on the current system than what would be on a AKL/AKV to/from DAK system.

Neither of which are likely to happen at DAK & AKL/AKV.

I would expect that AK would become the transportation hub for AKL/VAKL if this happens. Busses run every hour, you want to get somewhere faster, you take the Skyliner to AK, then the bus to your final destination. THAT would save Disney a ton of money - and Disney isn't putting in Skyliners for guest benefit.

The Skyliner expansion should probably be an whole new topic. Building the Skyliner from AKV to AK makes sense, continue to Coronado, on to Epcot. Do not forget the possibility of the Line extending from the Riviera to Disney Springs. A whole lot of possibilities, and as stated above a tremendous savings in Bus Driver, buses, bus fuel and maintenance. If you can Dream it, you can build it.
