Too much information everywhere.... I'm getting confused, someone please tell me where to request a room with a good view in Jambo Deluxe Studio - Savanna View and how to request it. I rented DVC

Thanks

To make room requests on rented DVC points, the owner of the points needs to put the request in with Member Services. You can only use the generic requests in online check in. Most DVC resorts ignore faxes, and Member Services won't speak to you.

All of the Jambo House studios are on 5th floor.

With a savanna view you will be on Kudu or Zebra trail on the 5th floor. I’ve stayed on and like both hallways and have had villas facing each of the 3 savannas visible from Jambo House villas. For a first visit Zebra trail w/ Arusha savanna view would be a good request. Zebra trail is very convenient to the pool & the Mara (quick service restaurant) and Arusha savanna is the central savanna. You can ask the owner you rented the points from to have any request noted.
Realize that the animals move around on the savannas and there will be times when you see none and other times when you’ll see several irrespective of where your villa is. The 3 savannas visible from Jambo all have giraffes and usually at least a pair of zebras, as well as many other species. The largest, Sunset savanna, which is visible from Kudu trail, has several zebras. Uzima savanna, which is visible from Zebra trail, is most likely to have baby giraffes if there are any.

With DVC your best request will to be to decide on a Savannah and request that be aware DVC is a request only and you get what you get and you can not ask for a different room without paying a cleaning fee and even with this it will likely not be granted. To expand on what the OP said the animals are free roaming -- they go where the food is in reality-- and they are feed on different savannahs at different times of the day the exception is the morning where they are all being checked and you will see little to no animals... there is a lot of information because of what was said different times of the day and opinions... decide what times you will likely be looking out and go from there or work around the schedule of a savannah you may want to stay on... For the record you can never guarantee what you may see or may not see for the best viewing most animals will be on the main savannah (Arusha) and best viewed from the viewing area off the lobby around 5 and later as they want to show off the animals to all the dinner guests. note the Sunset is the largest Savannah and is on the opposite side facing Kidani where you will see a lot of animals as well around 5 but it is impossible to see all of the 2 main savannahs from any room and some rooms are set back so do not expect to have a great view even around 5 even if you get a room on one of the 2 large Savannahs... Personally we have had great luck and seen some of the best on the Uzima Savannah as it is small the animals will be abundant when they are there and you can see the entire Savannah.. You will see a lot of animals only if you plan on spending time in the room and be there when they are fed otherwise you may look out at 8 AM every morning and only see a few birds and nothing else if that is the only time you will be in your room.

Ditto what PP mentioned. If you rent points and are paying for a Savanna view room, you will get that and only that so if you are trying to rent points for a non savanna view room, you or the DVC owner cannot make a request for a savanna view room and hope to be upgraded, DVC does not do that. I don't think there is any one type of room request to get a better view of the animals vs another type, a savanna view room is just that, a view of the savanna but where the animals are is anyone's guess really.

We've stayed both Zebra and Kudu trail and have great views both times. It's very nice enjoying coffee on the balcony and watching them roam and our kids liked to try to figure out which animal was which using the guide in the room.
