We will not be getting to the park until after most of the animal exhibits are closed (Safari, Jungle Trek, etc.). From the schedule I see online, the only animal exhibits that seem to stay open until park close (which happens to be 9pm) are the Oasis Exhibits and Discovery Island Trails. The Oasis exhibits are right when you get into the park, and include migratory birds, parrots, etc. The Discovery Island trails around the Tree of life include otters, flamingos, vultures, tamarin monkeys, etc. My question is, are the animals still there? Has anyone seen them on park exit, or around 7 or so? Do they go into pens or cages after dark? Can you still see any of them if it's dark? It just doesn't feel right going into Animal Kingdom without seeing any animals, so we hope to see at least a few, even if they're only tamarins and flamingos, lol. We've never been to AK at night, so this will be a first. Thanks for your help!

As far as I know the animals in the park are not 'controlled' the nocturnal ones come and go as they please. But even if you don't see any you're in for a treat... The park is beautiful after dark. We went to the Moonlight Magic event in January and it was stupendous... the Tree of Life Awakening took my breath away. The whole experience was totally magical.

I have no experience in this my self so hopefully someone else can provide an answer. If it turns out you can't see them (either because they're "put away" or because it's just too dark), an alternative if it's an option for you might be to visit Animal Kingdom Lodge. They have an area you can go out to and look at the savanna through night vision goggles.

Some animals are nocturnal so it probably better to go at night. I have gone in morning, and the afternoon and rarely saw animals. I went one time in the evening and I saw animals .

How late are you going to go to the park? The Safari runs very late now, most nights. Till an hour before close I think. While you can't see much at night you can see some. The issues with the Oasis and around the tree are they aren't really lit up well. Even if the animals are out it's not easy to see. I'd too and do the Safari then walk around Pandora and watch the tree

Just noting the Safari closes earlier than that at times. 6:15pm all this week (8-9pm park closings), 6:30pm all December (mostly 8-9pm park closings), etc, for example. That whole nighttime/evening safari thing isn’t much of a thing these days.

All of the animals are put into their night enclosures for check ups, feedings and just rest. The only animals left out are on the safari until that closes
The reason why Discovery Island and The Oasis appear to be open all the time is because guests walk through it, as opposed to Gorilla Falls trail and Maharajah where they actually close it for guest traffic

Thank you everyone! We won’t be getting to the park until 6 or 7, and I already checked the schedule/made fastpasses and the safari will be closed by the time we get there. Thank you to all that knew specifics about oasis/discovery trails... that is exactly the info I was looking for. I guess we won’t be able to see animals at the park this visit. However, now we have planned an afternoon at AK lodge to see the animals. You all have really encouraged me regarding going at night though! We have never been and we’re so excited to see Pandora and the beautiful tree :))) love the Dis. You are all amazing!!!!!!

Likely good change. The night safari was sorely lacking in everything.
