Animal Crossing Issues...

I dug up three fossils yesterday, and my DD11 was mad that she couldn't find any after that. I just reminded her that she had her shovel first and that she didn't choose to dig them up when she passed by them.

OK, so what can you do with the fossils besides donate them to the museum? I tried to sell them to Tom Nook, but he wouldn't take them.

I'm still new, but I think you just have to get it identified first then you can sell it.

Thanks, I will try that. Of course Tom Nook's store is closed today for an upgrade. And now I have full pockets and I can't sell anything!

How long before you get money (oops, bells) on your tree? I used my golden shovel and planted bells, but I don't think I planted very many. Maybe that makes a difference??

Hopefully we'll figure out how to get onto the Wii internet this weekend, sigh....

Is January 10th the day we can display auction items. I've been waiting to do one of those gyroid things. Has anyone sold one at auction??? How much did you ask?

There's also a fishing contest this weekend.

It's supposed to snow all day tomorrow - we can be very busy playing Animal Crossing (in between putting the final Christmas items away - and taking the tree to be put in the wood chipper).

Go into the City to the auction and ask for your checkroom empty your pockets in there any furniture etc. :) Go back and get it anytime or from your dresser.:)

My understanding of money trees....they might not grow money (bells)

Definitely get them identified first. Here's my strategy - donate them as you find them. I've then been finding a lot of duplicates - after identifying, Blathers gives them back to you right away, as they are already in the collection. Saves time and guilt for not donating. :rotfl:

You can sell them - once identified (they look like a dino skull and crossbones in your pocket) - or give them to your villagers as presents. Sometimes they will ask you to find fossils for you.

If you don't have a dresser, then you really need to get one. Fish and white turnips are the only things you can't put in your dresser. I like to have each "drawer" designated for a type of thing - wallpaper, furniture, floors, clothes, stuff to give away, shells, etc. I save drawers 1 and 16 for stuff I might need right away, like tools or notepaper (stock up on that).

Also, if Nooks is closed, fish all you want and drop them on the floor in your house. Little aquariums pop up. Then sell them in the morning.

Hi everyone,

Apparently, I've created some kind of frenzy with my casual mention of Animal Crossing on the show. Glad to know I'm not the only adult with a job who get's hooked into this game :)

Anyway, here's a good tip if you have 12 hours to kill and want to make big progress in the game. Doing this, I was not only able to pay off my house, but also put 1 million bells in the bank.

Time travel to April 12th - that's 'Bunny day" in AC. You'll find LOTS of places to dig things up - most of those will be bunny eggs. When you crack open your bunny egg, you'll find one of two things - either a piece of bunny foil, or a piece of candy. Take the bunny foils to town hall and give them to the spastic rabbit (who is quite possibly the most annoying video game character ever) and in return, he'll give you a piece of bunny furniture (these sell at Tom Nook's for 8,888 bells). With the candy you collect, time travel back to Feb 23rd - that's Festivale. You'll find Pave at Town Hall (quite possibly the gayest video game character ever). He (yes, Pave is a HE - hence the "gayest" character comment) will ask you for certain color candy - you need to give him three pieces of that candy and in exchange, he'll give you a piece of Pave furniture (which sells for $12000 bells in most cases). Do this about 800 times (back and forth between Feb 23 and April 12) until you have full collections of both Pave furniture and egg furniture (your Happy Room academy score will go thru the roof), and sell off the duplicates.

Then, when you're finished with that - take EVERYTHING out of your pockets and fill all but two or three spaces with whatever fruit is native to your town (in my case, cherries). Take your candy and put them in letters (I think you can hold 10 letters in your pockets), then time travel back to Oct 31st at 8pm to find Jack. All the characters in the game will be dressed alike for Halloween. If one of your town's animals come up to you they will ask you for candy -don't give them any - they'll get mad and will turn one item in your pocket into a jack in the box. Since you'll have nothing but fruit (which would sell for 100 bells), they will turn one piece of fruit into a Jack in the Box (which will sell at Nooks for 1,000 bells).

Finding Jack is pretty easy - he's the only character that won't chase you and won't automatically initiate a conversation when you approach him. When you find Jack, BEFORE you initiate the conversation, take a piece of candy out of one of your letters and move into your pockets. Then immediately talk to Jack - give him a piece of candy, and he'll give you a piece of Spooky furniture (sells for 10,310 bells). As soon as he leaves, move the piece of furniture he gave you back into one of your letters so you don’t risk having it turned into a jack in the box by an irate animal.

By the time you do all this, you will pay off most, if not all upgrades to your house (I was already on my final upgrade when I did this), and I was able to pay off the full mortgage (you'll get a flag outside your house for this) and bank 1 million bells.

This was how I passed the time when I was sick and it did a great job taking my mind off how miserable I felt :)

I'll see you all in 3 days.

Enjoy.

Pete

Hi everyone,

My head hurts.....(must find 3 days)....

Thanks for the tips, Pete!!!

I am going to try this this weekend.... now, if I can just figure out how to get out of work early...... :tiptoe:

How'd you find out about one this weekend? Are you ahead one week? ;) I know there's an official one next weekend on the calendar (the one on the animal crossing site that you can download).

Oh no, maybe I am a week ahead:confused3 Now I have to reschedule my whole weekend :lmao:

Pete, you have way too much free time :rotfl2:

As much as I have had fun this afternoon, my kids don't really like Pete right now. My older DD tried to point out that Animal Crossing is her game. I can't argue that. So, I said, it was my Wii, and she argued that because she got it for Christmas last year. Well, it's MY house. They have forgiven me a little because I gave them both some money.

Hey Pete - since you've been reading our thread, we wanted to let you know that we are working on DIS designs for character shirts that we wanted to let you and John (and anyone else) have. We just will need to figure out how to get them to you, as we are not "friend-code stalkers"

Disneym2m (Melissa) also has made a really nice Mickey design. Very cute on a shirt. She was wearing it when I was in her town the other night.

And thanks for the holiday playing tips. They will come in very handy! :thumbsup2

BTW - my husband made over a 1,000,000 bells last night when our price for turnips peaked at 602 bells. He got online and sold entry into the town for people to exchange turnips. He paid off his mortgage and is getting us a bridge and fountain!

Now I'll go through withdrawal- I've been playing every day for at least an hour most days- now I'm back at school with no Wii! :(

Maybe I can just read this for a vicarious fix.

I just got Animal Crossing for my DS. So far, I'm not totally addicted, but I'm still trying to figure the darn thing out. It takes me a coup[le days to get totally into games. I'm just wondering if Wide World is the same thing as City Folk, and if the same tips can apply for both. From what I've read on the thread, they seem like they are the same, but I want to be sure.
