Animal Crossing is AMAZING (you know...)

I got a few bee stings from shaking trees as I couldn't run away from them fast enough.

OMG - same thing happened to me last night - after Nook's closed! Funny thing was, I was actually thinking earlier that I should get some medicine to keep on hand in my house. Luckily, a good night's save heals all wounds!

Made my first turnip investment this morning - after I bought a watering can! Trying both types.

I'm not a game player at all, but my grandkids received a Wii for Christmas and I saw an ad for Animal Crossing this morning and am thinking of getting it for them. However, after reading through this thread I think that perhap they're too young for it. All you gamers, is this game too complex for 5-7 year olds? I know their dad (my ds) would love it, but I want something all of them would like to play.

It's pretty basic - someone might have to type letters for them if they don't know keyboarding, or help them come up with some catch phrases if neighbors ask you to come up with ideas, but they can be simple ones, like "Thank you." and "Here's a gift." (That one will get you far!:thumbsup2 )

I wouldn't buy it for a 5 year old. There is a lot of buying and selling involved and earning "bells" so you would need to understand the concept of money. I have also done a lot of favors for people so you would need to figure out how to deliver things back and forth. Also, you have to read everything the animals say to you because their actual speech is gibberish.

I got it on DS, and it blows my sims out of the water! I hate having to wait till tomorrow to do more!

Hi, my name is Michele and I am an addict.

Yes, your fruit will grow back. Thank goodness as I have in the past use the fruit for bells myself.

There is a message board dedicated to just Animal Crossing it also can be addicting.

If you send your neighbors letters with gifts they will send you foreign fruit. That is how I got my oranges and my apples. Also my kids wifi with their friends.

I was thriiled to find this thread. It kind of combines my two favorite things. :goodvibes

My wii isn't connected to the internet (yet) so I haven't been able to have visitors or to visit anyone else so the only fruit that I had were cherries ... until yesterday! A coconut washed up on shore so I planted that. :) I am wondering if any other fruit will appear ...

I'm pretty sure coconuts are the only things that 'wash up' as far as fruit.

I'd do like PP, and send your native fruit to all of your fellow villagers and hope they send you a foreign fruit in return.

I've been playing since November, and I had Oranges as a native -- I got peaches, pears & cherries from a friend, but no apples.

I sent letters one day and got an apple, woohoo!

Try sending flower seeds to your neighbors in letters as gifts and mention how much you like fruit. And they may send you some back. That is how I got my apples and pears. And unless coconuts are planted at exactly the right place they won't grow. I hope that helps.

What about sending them in PM's? Also that website I listed earlier is full of people who want to wifi and it is all devoted to Animal Crossing. Frankly it can be as addicting as Animal Crossing is.

If you have any questions on ACC I am llamannerdymama.

I love Animal Crossing. But I really wish Nintendo would give it some upgrades. Besides the (ug friendcodes) online, it's just about exactly the same as it is when I got it on the N64 in 2001. Yet I do love the game (I have City Folk also), it does need some changes.

And for anyone who played the gamecube version, connecting it to the gameboy and having the island you could sail to was great, why Nintendo didn't have anything like that with the DS/Wii, or even something better, is beyond me.

Anyways, Love the game, hasn't changed in 7 years, but a slightly new AC is better than no AC

Can you explain this to me step by step? Do you mean neighbors as in the animals? Or people online?

I probably sound stupid but I don't understand how to do the internet/wifi/whatever part of it.

I meant the neighbors. I learned a lot watching my kids play the Gamecube version and then I tried the DS one. So I had to buy the Wii one. Writing letters to the animals in your town and attaching presents for them makes for some interesting presents for you.

Ok, we have this game and WiFi but have no friends with codes to leave town with.... None of my kids friends have this game, so how the heck else can we leave towns??!! Its making me crazy:rolleyes1
