Animal Crossing-City Folk

Love the flag! When I got my house flagpole last week, DD made me a Mickey Head one in red and black. The green adds a very elegant and Dis-ey touch!!

We had a fun night last night - got to visit the adorable town of Ditney briefly - hopefully we can visit again soon! And Chrissy and her kids came over right after that. Right as they were about to leave, we had another visitor. dlbmg came over for a few. Seattle was hoppin!

Psssst Chrissy - let your kids know we can hear them when the WiiSpeak is on. :rotfl2: DD and I were dying! It was the classic "shut up....no you shut up....no YOU shut up" :rotfl2: And dare I ask what an oopsie doopsie is?? :confused3 :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: Hope you can come back soon - Annika really likes playing with Marissa. :goodvibes

First of all

City: y7u8i9o0 (thats o the letter then zero, DS is 6
is pretty good, considering my 7 year old never changed the name at all and now we are stuck with "mytown" lol.

Keri, my son was being the biggest ham last night, he was lovin' it. My daughter clams up like a deer in the head lights, which is ironic cause I got the wii speak mostly for her. She will have to get over her stage fright.

Sorry about my disappearance, had a phone call, and every time I got close to the wii Marissa would run up to me and whisper, "Mom they can hear you" I got evicted from the room altogether.

Marissa would love to play with Annika some more.....and we need to "borrow" your Mickey design. hehehe. Everytime we go to your town we come back with "town envy" lol.

I tried to come to Seattle last night. I could see your gate was open, but then in the end, it would not connect. Kept telling me there was an error and to contact Nintendo :confused3 I hope it resolves itself, cause I have no idea what the problem is.

Hey jenlynn0808 --

Good news! If your town works like our town (and I don't know why it wouldn't) everyone gets their own money rock! We found that out by accident one day, now we all get on at least once a day to look for our rock. Digging the holes works great too, except we usually dig the holes in a straight line behind. That way if a centipede or pill bug pops out, we can still move around the rock fast enough to catch it.

We have tried that, but only had luck once or twice...maybe we are hitting them to close together, time wise that is....guess we will keep trying.

Also, I have discovered that if I get everythingout of the money rock and from shaking the trees I end up with 4,600. Now someone here said if you use your golden shovel you get more from the rock, but I still only get 2,100, so I have been just using my regular shovel. Anyone have any different advice about the golden shovel...not sure what the point is of having it yet as I haven't gotten any benfits from it yet.

We use our golden shovel and we usually get 8100 bells each. We did figure out that one of our rocks had some flowers planted too close to it and we wouldn't get the last money bag -- once we moved the flowers that rock started giving up 8100 bells again. Supposedly the silver shovel does even better, 12000 bells, but we haven't gotten a silver shovel yet. The tricks are to dig the holes so that you don't bounce back away from the rock and make sure there's nothing around your rock to interfer with the bells popping out. Oh, and everyone's money rock is different, so if you get money from one rock, your DD's money rock will probably be in a different spot -- I didn't know if I had made that part clear. Good luck!

YES!! It's finally spring in my town!! Feb. 25- our town no longer has snow! Finally! I love the green grass growing with red apple trees everywhere! :cheer2:

I was needing to see about getting a couple of apples from somebody. They are the only fruit that I don't have. Was not for sure what I could do to get one. Thanks

I heard!! My son said that all the snow is gone, however there is still a lot of brown in our town.:sad2: There is one section that we have that a lot of flowers planted in has a lot of green.:goodvibes

I have some questions please.. I want to buy my daughter Wild World-DS. It says 2-4 players. Is this mean she can't just play it on her own or does she has to go on the internet? If I get her this game.. would she be able to play WW with me on CF (with or without internet)? I am very sorry if these questions are dumb. I'm not savvy when it comes to stuff like these :confused3 I honestly have no clue as how the DS works with WW (considering it says 2-4 players) and I don't know if WW-ds and CF-wii can be played with each other. Thanks so much for any infos.

Same here.. I see some greens (I know they're growing).. but I also see a lot of brown areas that I know in time it will become green when summer comes.
I'm just sooo excited about it cause I just got tired of snow and the town was not very colorful cause the snow is everywhere. I am so ready to start catching butterflies and catch some different kinds of fish.

Nope, not a dumb question at all!

AC Wild World (for the DS) is very similar to City Folk. One player at a time, but if two people both have a copy on two different DS units, they can visit each other's towns (just like in CF). You can have up to 4 characters per town, but each of them plays individually (just like on ACCF).

Unfortunately, the two versions don't play together. I know - we tried ourselves. You can only play DS-to-DS or Wii-to-Wii.

When visiting another town, you may have seen an option to use a DS connection. That's only used if you visit another ACCF town but don't have an internet connection. Basically, you load your character onto the DS, physically carry it to another Wii, and load it there on that town. The only purpose the DS serves is to take the game info from one place to the next.

I hope that helps a little!

The green (grass) is only going to grow where you see snow now. It was one of the new "features" added to the game. The game remembers where you walk and wears out "paths". The trouble is that many people are finding that all of their grass is gone because they walk all over.

Thanks.. that's a big help! Just a little unsure.. So my daughter can play WW-ds by herself (only having one player in the game) because what is throwing me off is the 2-4 players indicated on the back of the cover. I'm so sorry if I am confusing you. TIA!

You are welcome to post or PM your info and I will add you - we have plenty of apples for you to come and pick. :goodvibes

Yes, no problems playing by herself on the DS. My kids do it all the time. I wonder why it sayd 2-4 players? That's strange!

I know.. really, honest that's what it says on the back of the cover. The salesperson even thought it was kind of weird to have 2-4 players and not 1-4 players, not like most of the games. The staff even asked another staff about the 2-4 players and the response he got was "yeah, they must go online to play with another person and that's why it says 2-4." I am so glad I asked here. Now I can buy my daughter her own AC-WW-ds. Of course, I will probably will borrow her ds once in a while to play WW, but with my own character. Thanks so much for all your great help. :flower3:

Keri (bakers3)! I've had a momma cat, I think her name is Kaitlyn, in my town the last 2 nights and she thinks she lost her daughter in Seattle! I have no idea how to get them together! Anybody have any ideas?? I feel bad for the cats! :rotfl: I'm Jenny from Bellville by the way! :goodvibes
