Alan - sorry about the death of your friend. maybe one day they will find a cure for all the cancers.

MP - are you being Nurse Merry today? hope David feels o.k. today.

Went to the PTA meeting last night, and it lasted 2 hours! We have a new principal who is dividing her time between our school and her original school. They are claiming this is only temporary, but the parents all feel that this will be permanent due to cutting costs. I'm glad I went, and I hope the parents can make a difference by going to the next school board meeting.

SB, stay involved. It helps. I have been to my fair share of school board meetings over the years.

I am looking at making reservations for VA Beach for a night when the marching band goes to be in a parade. One advantage to my advanced age is I can get a 10% discount on the room at Quality Inn.

Lars, just 2 weeks until you go.

I think we need to schedule a chat sometime when Gail can come. I thnk she needs it.

I've got to head out to do some major grocery shopping this afternoon. DH goes and gets the every day things like milk and eggs and whatever is on sale, and then I head out to get everything else. We are having a couples' Bunco on Valentine's evening so I need to get my list in order.

I hope David doesn't come down with anything too nasty, MP.

Sandi - how is your dog doing these days? I hope she is able to get around better.

Carol - The parents are also concerned when we hear budget cuts and that it might include music programs, teachers aides and so on. We are going to try to get a big group to attend the next school board meeting. I agree w/ the chat thing too. Anyone busy tonight around 9?

I think I could chat. Depends on the sick situation. David is up. Said he felt pretty good until he got out of bed. Now he's queasy again. Amy announced on the way to school that her tummy doesn't feel too good. Swell. Could be an interesting weekend. And Allen is going backpacking Friday through Sunday! Calgon take me away! At least there is no school on Friday and Monday. David does need to attend the Mid-state swim meet on Friday and Saturday, though.

SB, just let us know if the angels need to make an appearance at the next school board meeting (in uniform of course).

Lars, you tempt me! I could go down with you and just stay until my family gets there. Right! Like my kids would go along with that.

Pete just called, he had to inspect a job at a hospital, it was in the OR and he got to wear doctor clothes. Last time he wore those, we were at a costume party, and he was a GYN, complete with speculum. Ewwwwww (it was brand new). Now he is off to the Oakland Airport to go back to LA to inspect some joib there. Home at 11:30 tomorrow night. I reminded him that my favorite holiday is on Saturday, wonder if he will get the hint...............

Just heard from DH. Another kid dropped out of the backpacking trip for this weekend. Now it's down to a family of three (two parents are Scout leaders) and another leader and his son, and my DH another leader. Allen says maybe he'll bow out, since my birthday and Valentine's Day fall during the trip. Yay! Cross your fingers for me. I'd love for him to stay home since they don't really need him.
