Angels & their wonderful men...a new thread for a new year!!!

...and all you wonderful ladies!!

(so, who's got the Pats and the Eagles??)

We skipped church today, but Allen is feeling better. He says thanks for the good thoughts. I think he was mainly really tired. Amy caught up on some sleep, too. The sleepover took it out of her. ;) She's been mumbling about wanting to become an angel.

I still have the Carol Burnett marathon on tv. I'm watching off and on as I work around the house.

Like your YC's Melissa. How cute!

Gail, how cool that all those grandkids/greats came to the airport. I bet that was a special moment. Hope someone took pictures!

CS, hope he gets a night off next week.

Have fun at the wedding party, Lars. I forget, did you say it was a friend or a relative?

I'm getting back to folding laundry. Also planning to stick something in a crockpot for dinner. I grouched this morning about having trouble getting anyone to help around here, so I'm hoping the tree is coming down this afternoon.

I have been watching Carol Burnett also.

I'm defrosting some shrimp to make shrimp creole for dinner.

No school or work tomorrow so we are just lazing around, now that we are home from church.

We got to laughing so hard during the affirmation of faith. DH, DS and I were in our usual seats in the front row of the balcony. (DD was in the choir.) When we stood up, one of the pages of DH's bulletin went sailing over the balcony rail to the congregation below. We all got the giggles and couldn't stop but had to try to stay quiet. I almost had to leave. Luckily, the church was pretty empty so no one noticed us. I don't know if someone downstairs thought it was an answered prayer or what.

We will probably watch some football this afternoon.

Gail, sounds like a nice reception at the airport.

:wave2: :wave2: everyone.

LOL, Carol. :teeth: I'm pretty old-school. I think you should always offer at least a polite "thank you" when your husband does the laundry. :earseek:

...man, I thought I was bad! You STILLO have your tree up??!?!? (I hope it's a fake one:rolleyes: , cuz' wow, you'll be vacuuming up needles till August!!)

Yes, it's fake. Actually, it's been naked for a while now. I've packed up all the ornaments. It only has the lights and the angel on top. Can't seem to get the guys to help me bring it down, and it's about 12 feet tall. I'm just way too short to deal with the top of that tree.

Congratulations to Patriot fans. DS wanted them to win. I didn't care, so I cheered for them knowing that several angels were fans.

Gail, congratulations to your team!!! Going to the superbowl!!!

LK, I hope you were able to sit at home and do nothing. We always knew it was bad out when they canceled our CCD!

:wave2: Hi cubsfan & Kimmar

Melissa, those are so cute!!! Very nicely done!!!

Lorraine, how did your afternoon go?

CS, I hope he can come to visit next week :)

Glad to hear that Allen is feeling better!

Carol, I laughed too at that thread's title!

Oh and Merry, we still have our tree up too... fake as well and still all decorated. Hopefully this week :teeth:

Hi All:wave2:
The wedding party was very nice:D
MP~It was for my nephew that was the Marine in Africa......it was wonderful to see him!! And really great to meet his wife:teeth:

Yea, my home team is going to the big game! Now, if the Panters win, it can be the civil war all over again.

Lazy day here again, we went to home depot to get the key for the back door copied. We can't use the front door as the gutter is weighted down so much, there isn't enough clearance. And it is a PITA to use the garage. Then we did the grocery shopping and I did 2 loads of wash. The water pressure is so low in this house it takes an hour to do a load. And since it is so darn cold down there, I hate even doing it. But at the new house, washer and dryer are on the same level as the bedrooms and bathrooms. I will be so spoiled!

Tomorrow, I become single for 2 days, then again Wednesday. Boy, I have plans, too. I am going to try to get my car registered, and then go to Costco. Tuesday, I have to pick up the dry cleaning. Do I know how to live or what?

Looks like all of you had a great weekend.

Carol, I am sure that God doesn't mind laughter in His house. After all, it is a gift.

Melissa (GP), cute little pictures.

Melissa (MP) and E! - it is time to get those trees put away, and get out the valentines decor!

Kim - nice to see you here, again.

Lars, so nice that you got to meet the bride, please pass on my good wishes for a long and happy life.

Hi to all I missed. Especially SSB.

See you on the riddle, I will be up early to get Pete out of the house and on his way to the airport, I am not driving him, his boss is picking him up.

Catch you all tomorrow....is it my riddle or lars????

Hi all :)
Spent the day witha couple girlfriends at the local scrapbook store. We were there for 5 1/2 hours happily scrapping away. I could have stayed longer but DH showed up 1/2 hour early to tell me dinner was ready at home. He made the most delicious beef stew.
So, we wrapped it up and headed home. I took pics and uploaded all my new pages http://community.webshots.com/album/103328827sSTDQj
now I am waiting for Sex and the City to come on.
Tomorrow my girlfriend and her dd are coming over, dont know what we are gonna do. Maybe bowling, maybe a movie with the kids. We'll figure something out.
Have a great night.:wave2:

Lars, I remember that now. Bet it was great to see him and meet her.

Funny you should mention it Marsha. My mom says to just leave the tree up with lights on it and hang hearts all over it. :teeth: May have to. David twisted his ankle today and it's swollen. Don't know if I can get DH motivated to take the tree down or not.

Bethany, scrapping sounds heavenly. Wish you were a bit closer and I didn't have so much to get done.

Off to check out what angels have said on the laundry thread.

Bethany, can I pay you to come and live with me for 6 months or so to go through all of my pictures and make scrapbooks for me? ;) Your pages are so fantastic!

Hi! :wave2:

I'm having a hard time with either the boards and/or my internet connection. It's way too slow.

Lew's in New Carrollton, MD tonight...he'll wave in your direction in the morning Carol.

There were lots of cameras, camcorders and even a picture phone at the airport last night....and not too many dry eyes.

I'm going to try to catch up some more....if the boards let me. Hope everyone is having a nice evening.

Hi all,
Hope you had a good weekend.

Bethany: your SB pages are AWESOME::yes:: I especially liked the library card one and the school ones! Mine are nowhere near that creative!

Steph: still smiling at your antics on the laundry thread. You have even corrupted Brian!

Had a lazy night after attending a party in honor of DH's fantasy football league (yawn).
Finished a really good book this evening called In Silence by Erica Spindler. It is her latest hardback and it was very suspenseful. I enjoyed most of her paperbacks but this was one of her better ones by far.

Going to bed early tonight. :faint:
Goodnight everyone!

OH wow!!! Great pages Bethany!!! I don't think I'd ever have the patience to do ones liek that!!!

My night flew from me... just wanted to say good night to you all :)
