The school district here has a local cable channel, so I always switch to that channel first so I don't have to sit through the announcements of all of the other districts.

SB, that's terrible! I'm so sorry you had to go out in the cold for nothing. All our school closings are listed on the net. Makes it much easier to check for snow days, but then we don't have very many.

Alan, what you wear while you eat your Indian taco is your business, but eating in sneaky underwear just not my style. I forgot that you guys wouldn't know Indian tacos. Sorry. That comes from living in what used to be Indian Territory, I guess. An Indian taco is an Indian fry bread topped with meat, beans, lettuce, tomato, cheese sour cream, onions, . . . you get the idea. You eat it with a fork. If you have Taco Bell and have eaten a Gordita, the fry bread is sort of like that - only thicker and better tasting. Come see me sometime and I'll take you to a restaurant where they serve them. They are good!

I don't know the story of the blow-up doll either. Where was I? Or was that before I was an angel?

Sandi, I love St. Thomas! They'll have a marvelous time. We went SNUBA diving there and it was a blast! SNUBA is a cross between scuba and snorkeling. You have an air tank, but instead of wearing it, it floats on a raft above you. Our kids loved it!

Sandi, in case they are interested, here are the SNUBA sites. We did the one at Coki Beach. It comes with passes to Coral World. Which is kind of like a cross between a zoo and Sea World. Lots of sea life that you can observe, but no rides or shows.

As for the underwear, mine are much more comfortable thank you, and I keep lounge shorts on in the house, so there!

I don't remember the blow up doll story but I am getting a little forgetful in my old age.

My washer is now fixed. Back to doing the laundry in the privacy of my own home again.

MP - I love Gordita's! In fact, we got Taco Bell last night and I always order a Gordita. I'm sure the real thing is better.

Thanks for the support for my vent today. I guess I better watch all 3 channels and get on the internet to really make sure of a delay or closing. DS was ok w/ everything since he got more time to play, and he finally beat me at Clue, so he was even happier. Also, when he came home he showed me he has a loose tooth. He doesn't have any out yet so he is excited.

Finally home!!!!! I spent some time at the apartment unpacking boxes...then the kids and I had dinner at Hometown Buffet. We tried a chinese buffet first but they were closed. We're hoping that was just because of today's snow and not closed for good. Lew went to the hospital right from work so we haven't seen him yet. Hope he has good news about his dad.

SB - similar situation with us this morning. A local TV station lists closings and delays on their website so I dutifully checked it this morning but nothing was listed. Luckily I turned on the TV at 6 when they were starting their newscast because the first thing announced was a one-hour delay for Warwick. The anchor said they were having trouble getting it on the website. I'm sure there were many who were at their bus stops an hour early in my city today.

Time to change to comfy clothes...(no quetions about my underware please!)....and watch AI.

Allen took us to Bob's BBQ for dinner tonight. I always like a day when I don't have to cook and clean up.

My FIL's birthday is coming up and his new love is Terry's Mini Chocolate Orange Slices. David got him some at Christmas. Now I can only find the whole "oranges". I found one box of the minis today and the box was torn up. I bought it anyway. I need to hit a bunch more stores looking for them.

Gail, I've been wondering about your FIL. Any news?

Carol, I'm glad you can now do your laundry in the privacy of your home. Although I'm sure it does take some of the excitement out of it.

He's doing better. He's getting out of bed himself and spending a good deal of time sitting in a chair. That is an accomplishment given the shape he was in a week ago. His breathing is much better and he's able to talk comfortably. There are still some health issues so we don't know exactly when he'll be released but he's definately coming along. Thanks for asking MP!!

MIL is now coughing so we're getting her off to the doctor before we have a repeat performance.
