It sounds like that candle gives all kind of cravings!

I'm glad to hear repairs are underway.

I am craving warmth!!!!

Pete just called, he is going to Norfolk on Monday. This is so funny, the compaby he used to work for sent him there all the time to show how to get their floors installed on the Navy ships, now the new company is doing the same. And they are trying to get the Navy to drop the other product for theirs. Hmmm, wonder if I will have to take him to Manchester Airport. or Boston, I hope not! Life is getting back to normal.

E, I forgot to answer you about POTC. I bowed to you because I knew you were the resident expert on the movie. :teeth:

Threatening to send my kids with their dad wouldn't work. He leaves WAY too early. He's always gone before Amy even gets up. And having Amy walk . . . her school is at least 10 minutes away by car. She MIGHT get there before they let them out in the afternoon, but I doubt it. ;)

I'm trying to decide what to fix for dinner. Allen is doing Scouts tonight without me since I'm still coughing. He won't be home until 7:30ish. David has a swim meet, so he'll be home late. I want a comfort food, that is easy to make, that I have the ingredients for and will keep well. Hmmmm. Maybe I should give up and call for a pizza.

We just had a birthday cake at work. I am sooooooo stuffed. I guess that diet is going to start tomorrow....

Hiya,

First of all, a HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to SANDY!!!!!

Second, for all those worried that Mr Alabama had scared me off, not to fear! We have patched things up via PM and all is fine ;) and if you believe he ever truly offended me then you are silly! LOL, anyways, looks like I got my own back (however unintentionally!!!) in those PMs so things are much more even now :teeth:

and on that note, I truly hope Winston feels better soon! It is horrible when pets are ill/injured. Our Mips goes back to the vets tomorrow for her ear checkup but I'm sure all will be fine so PD to Winston!!

I have no right to comment on the school kids getting up and off to school talk... not because I don't have kids, but because I was and still am one of those kids!!! LOL, I'm not a morning person :)

Enjoy your tacos, birthday cakes, spaghettis and leftovers ;)

Cheeky Brit!

Winston is at home. His condition (ie. runny stool - isn't that more than you wanted to know) is still occuring. We have two medicines, some food to use for awhile and a $105 vet bill. The vet said it could be from something he ate or from stress.

The man who directed the guide dog school where we got Winston is in town tonight. He is now working with another school in New York operating a program in the Southeast for them.

We were looking forward to a visit and pizza with some other graduates and volunteers in our area, but now we are going to leave Winston behind, just in case.
Either way, Mrs. AA is going because she would love to see him, and is pretty stir crazy right now and needs out. She is focusing this week on attempting to potty train a three year old who shows no real interest. This morning was good and this afternoon has been horrible. Our oldest daughter was trained way before now.

No left overs? Shoot :(

Resident PotC expert?? Getting there ;)

Truthfully I am in a cruddy mood today. They did some lay offs this afternoon and now it is snowing :( I hate days like this! I just hope tomorrow is a better one.

Alan, it is good to know that Winston just has the runs. YUK. The vet (yes the same one who told us not to take our dogs across the country) advised regular old Imodium in case of loose stools. (Maybe you should take Winston for pizza with an Imod chaser!) We didn't have that problem, I swear Sadie can eat anything and it doens't bother her at all. Good luck to Mrs AA with the little Angel, there is a school of thought that says you should not attempt that activity at all, the child will decide when they are ready, even up to 5 years old. I don't know anyone who went to that school, tho. Enjoy your evening with the teacher and your friends. I don't know how anyone can raise a puppy and train it, then give it up, but it's good that they do, so as to give Mrs AA more independence.

Elaine, guess it wasn't your turn (again) for the layoff? Feel better!

Sandi, Happy Burthday belated and I guess you wqill catch us up on the family homecomingin a few days.

I think I need to take my dogs out again.

I'm sorry you are having a cruddy day Elaine. All you can do is bloom where you are planted, and speaking of Bloom, order out and watch POTC :p

LOL, it's never a good idea to give a dog that goes into resteraunts "people" food.

I'm afraid his diet is limited to dry kibble, milk bones, and whatever he scavenges under a child's chair before he is noticed. ;)

usually the best thing for a sick puppy belly is rice and chicken.....

Good luck!

:wave2: everyone...gotta go get dinner on the table and head out for a scout meeting......***again***

AA~I am glad that Winston's illness didn't turn out to be anything serious. Tell Mrs AA not to stress too much over the potty training thing~I've been there!!! The twins were trained by the time they turned 3 but Dylan was another story altogether! He flat out refused~"I like my diapers"~I stressed for a while (mostly cause my MIL was giving me grief) & then I just sorta decided he wasn't gonna go to high school in diapers so I let it go. He finally trained a month before he turned 4 & he didn't ever even have one accident.

Elaine~I'm so sorry that you're having a bad day:hug: Try a good dose of chocolate & a viewing of POTCpirate: and if all else fails come here for a great big Angel Group Hug:grouphug:

Marsha~I forgot to say Congratulations on the town house yesterday~it sounds like a great place:sunny:

Tonight we're heading out in the cold for Meg's cheer competition~GO BULLDOGS!!

Good luck to Meg in competition. Our high school poms took second in nationals. We are proud of them. Hear they are going to be on ESPN.

Potty training is no fun. The things that helped the most for us were cool big kid pants of the child's choosing (Amy would have rather died than soil her lacey panties), occassional candy rewards for success (although some say that isn't the way to go), and mentioning that Mickey would be proud when we went to WDW helped with David! :teeth: I really believe that they pretty much train themselves when they are ready and sometimes pushing can make it worse. It's almost like they fight to stay in control, or should I say out of control? ;)

Sorry you are having a bad day, E. Layoffs are so stressful. Our family has been through so many of those, so I have great empathy for you. Even if you aren't fingered, you still have to deal with the bad feelings.

Marsha, are the plumbers gone? Did they get it fixed?

Forget leftovers. I want birthday cake. :teeth:

Thanks all... I think it is a Pirates night. Just waiting for DH to come home to see what he wants to do about dinner.

Marsha, some say that the layoffs will continue tomorrow. I hope they don't in our group because it is just a pain to deal with. From what I understand (and hopefully this is correct) I will have a job. This must make about the 20th time I've watched layoffs in my area happen. Still hate it.

Alan, I do hope Winston will be good soon! I have to agree with Steph, chicken & rice help many sickly tummies.

Birthday cake?? I could use some of that :teeth:

There is a child peeing in the den and screaming and a dog having accidents on the carpet in the bedroom.

Mrs. AA does not want to keep both of them in the tiled den because Abigail's screaming (which any three year old is prone to) only upsets him so I'm taking him to the vet to kennel and watch tomorrow.

I'm not crazy about it, but she is an absolute nervous wreck and about to snap. I think I'm going to put a pull-up on Abigail and take the girls out to eat after dropping Rebecca off at our friend's home.

I hope everyone else has a less eventful evening!

I just looked at the calendar and noticed that I'm almost exactly two months from my Disney cruise. Yippeeee! That made my day. I'm more than ready for a vacation, and a vacation with Mickey is even better!

MP - countdown to cruisin' ... cool !! It's always great to have something to look forward to ... and even better when it gets closer and closer :D

Thanks everyone for the b-day wishes ... I had a nice day.
The holiday season is now officially over ..... Christmas, New Year's, birthday ... see ya next year ! Have to make my own special days throughout the year :D

SB .... I saw on cbs.com that they have an all-stars survivor video preview - but I haven't watched it yet .....first episode is right after the super bowl !

Everyone stay warm and have a great evening !

Alan, big Angel hugs for you. Pull ups are not a bad thing. Dog messes on the carpet are not a fun thing. A stress out wife, that one I know about. I will send a prayer up for all to calm down at the AA house, I hope the Mrs can take a deep breath and let it all go. It doesn't help to be stressed, but sometimes it helps to be alone, or to have a hug and a good cry. What ever type she is, I know you will get it under control. Winston will probably like to be a doggy camp tomorrow, too.
