Angels & their wonderful men...a new thread for a new year!!!

Good morning and Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

I am up early to send off DS on the second day of his meet. He doesn't swim today, just has to cheer for his team mates. Hopefully it'll be a shorter day today for him. He looks tired.

Not sure what's on our agenda for the day. I need David to try on shorts so I know if I need to buy any shorts for the cruise. I think we have everything else pretty well taken care of.

Cool that Gail and Carol got flowers. I don't ever get them on Valentines Day or our anniversary, but Allen brings them to me often "just because". He's a sweetie. We decided this year just to do something together. We may wait to celebrate Valentines Day until tomorrow, or should I say stretch it out an extra day? :teeth: The kids go to youth group for 3 hours, so we could leave a little early to do dinner and a movie alone and be home when they get back.
I saw last night on tv that OU's women's basketball team is having a basketball game tonight. Afterward the team is going to sign autographs. Amy and David would love that, so we might go get tickets.

Brian, just practice a stern look. That is what my dad used to do to scare the boys. He was good at it too! He said he learned that as an officer in the Navy.

LK, have fun at bunco.

Sorry that the plans changed, Lars! That's terrible. You'll just have to go ahead and have 2 trips. :teeth:

Love all the "gifts" Lou! Thanks ever so much!

:wave2: Hi to everyone that I missed. I didn't want to forget anyone. Hope you all have a great hearts and flowers day. I'll check back later.

I would have taken the corporate card, but it expired! I'll take the champaigne!

Happy V day to all. Comcast is here again, new box has only PPV and digital channels, but no regular. Sheesh!!!!! Once he leaves, Pete and I will be off to do the things that we have to do while he is in town. He brought me back a really cute Christmas ornament from LA, he said it was us someday, sitting on the beach. And a cute Mickey holding a jumping rope. For your collection, he says. THe collection that is boxed up and won't see the light of day for awhile. I asked him if I could have an area in the basement as the Mickey room, but he isn't keen on that. I guess it will be boxed up until the next move, as I have no other available space. Which ticks me off, but since he is paying the freight, I have to go along with the plan.

Stephanie, I won't be watching the race. I have no idea who drives what. I told you, it's John Focre in the Mustang dragster that I follow, and even that is only if it come on while flipping channels.

Winter will be back tomorrow, high supposed to be 10!

SB says hello to everyone and Happy Valentine's Day! She also sends along Happy Birthday greetings to Melissa!:wave2:

Her computer is out of commission until Monday or Tuesday.

Happy Valentines Day everyone :)

Yes, I'm back LOL... I've been off and on a little over the last few days but things have been pretty hectic so not had chance to stop in, sorry!

How have you all been?! I will try to scan read back a few pages at some point.

Many things have gone on here, but basically, in short, I moved house (all went smoothly but we still have plenty of boxes to get through LOL) and resigned from my new job (really disliked both the work and the office atmosphere, long story but not an interesting one really!) so I'm finishing work officially on 4th March (my new job) and 12th March (my old job that I was still currently in has been extended until then and then I'm on my own!) so I'll be keeping an eye out for new opportunities and trying to find something before then :)

Hmm.... Think that's it for now but can I also ask that CourtasanSatine checks in on the Candy Exchange thread or reads and replies to Rasnlms/AprilGail2's PMs as they are trying to find out some info from you, thanks :)

Cya,
Gaspode

 @ Everyone!!

Hi All!!!

& say 'Hi' to SB for me.:wave2:

Matt got me a portable DVD player for the trip to WDW........I'm thinking it'll mostly get used by the kiddies but that's the reason I wanted it:D

Dylan had fun at his Valentine party:D I'll see you all later.

Welcome back Melissa. We missed you. Glad you are in your new house. Too bad about the job though. You will have to get one of the men to do a 2 week catch up for you.

Brian, I know the feeling. DH and my social life takes the back burner to DS and DD.

LK, have fun at Bunco.

Lou, I think I'll take the hot tub. The roses caught my eye but I already have some.

Today DD and I redeemed gift certificates we received from my DH and DS at Christmas for Queen for a Day at the beauty school in the next town. We each had a facial, spa pedicure, manicure, hair conditioning treatment, and hair style. We were there about 4 hours and then went out to lunch. It was fun.

Now I have to regain my appetite to go out for dinner. Points are out the window today.

Lars, good luck with that trip!!! Hopefully you will wind up at a good place! And glad you got your portable DVD player!! I would love to have one myself!

Brian, sorry your plans were kind of messed up. Ih ope you have fun no matter what tonight.

Lou, thank so much for those presents... I liked one in particular ;)

LK that is such a cool gif there!!! I would love to have one, but I figure Luis would laugh at me if I got one ;)

Merry, I hope you and Allen have a good time together no matter what you do :)

Marsha, what a pain with the cable! I hope that gets fixed soon. And just think, i twon't be long before you'll move and see that collection again!

Welcome back Melissa!!! Sure missed you around here! I am glad that all went well! Good luck with the jobsearch.

Heading out to dinner in about an hour... Chinese too, my favorite food :)

Elaine, stop following me like that.

Watch out ladies, Lou has AIM now and he knows how to use it.

Carol, you really need to stop sneaking in on me like that :p

LOL, Lou, I love that song :teeth:

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Lou, thanks for the presents!

LK and I finally met today at DD's basketball game. :Pinkbounc
Then we both had to hurry off to get ready for our buncos tonight.
(we are both having couples bunco tonight: its a Cranberry thing, lol)

Sounds like everyone is having a nice Valentines Day.
DH and I don't exchange gifts. (he thinks it is a holiday invented by the card company!) Which it is, but roses are still nice, don't ya think? I have learned to buy my own when I want them.

I just figured out how to do AIM now too. my name is
the firstmickey.
Do you believe someone already had firstmickey?? I haven't used it yet. I was going to do the chat the other night, but we were all under the weather.

We are all recovering now. DD and I still have the cough but DS is all better.

Have a great day everyone!

Getting in a little bit of DIS time before everyone arrives.

Lou - I haven't heard that song in a while - I love it!

Carol - that is a really great idea for the beauty school to sell those certificates. Sounds like a fun time!

E - Chinese food is always yummy! I am making mini egg rolls for tonight.

Lars - you will love the portable DVD player. It sure keeps our kids quiet in the car.

Oh goody, now we can torture and be tortured by Lou via AIM too!

And last but not least - we missed you Gaspode! So glad to hear that you are in your new home.

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!

Lou, Aren't you a sweetheart! I would love some Roses!!

Welcome Back Melissa! Glad to hear you are all settled in! And good luck with the job search!

SB, We miss you!:wave2:

Lk, Awesome Gift!! I'm jealous!

Donna, It MUST be a Cranberry thing, I never even heard of Bunco before LK mentioned it

Billy brought me home chocolate! Pecan Turtles, my favorite!!
I'm cooking a special seafood feast tonight. Scallops, shrimp, and crab legs. Didn't feel like fighting the crowds at the restaurants!
Everyone have a great evening!

Evening everyone.
First and foremost...Brian, this is for you:

Rule One: If you pull into my driveway and honk you'd better be delivering a package, because you're sure not picking anything up.

Rule Two: You do not touch my daughter in front of me. You may glance at her, so long as you do not peer at anything below her neck. If you cannot keep your eyes or hands off my daughter's body, I will remove them.

Rule Three: I am aware that it is considered fashionable for boys your age to wear their trousers so loosely that they appear to be falling off their hips. Please don't take this as an insult, but you and all of your friends are complete idiots. Still, I want to be fair and open minded about this issue, so I propose this compromise: You may come to the door with your underwear showing and your pants ten sizes too big, and I will object. However, in order to ensure that your clothes do not, in fact, come off during the course of your date with my daughter, I will take my electric nail gun and fasten your trousers securely in place to your waist.

Rule Four: I'm sure you've been told that in today's world, sex without utilizing a "barrier method" of some kind will kill you. Let me elaborate: when it comes to sex, I am the barrier, and I will kill you.

Rule Five: In order for us to get to know each other, we should talk about sports, politics, and other issues of the day. Please do not do this. The only information I require from you is an indication of when you expect to have my daughter safely back at my house, and the only word I need from you on this subject is "early."

Rule Six: I have no doubt you are a popular fellow, with many opportunities to date other girls. This is fine with me as long as it is okay with my daughter. Otherwise, once you have gone out with my little girl, you will continue to date her until she is finished with you. If you make her cry, I will make you cry.

Rule Seven: As you stand in my front hallway, waiting for my daughter to appear, and more than an hour goes by, do not sigh and fidget. If you want to be on time for the movie, you should not be dating. My daughter is putting on her makeup, a process that can take longer than painting the Golden Gate Bridge. Instead of just standing there, why don't you do something useful, like changing the oil in my car?

Rule Eight: The following places are not appropriate for a date with my daughter: Places where there are beds, sofas, or anything softer than a wooden stool. Places where there are no parents, policemen, or nuns within eyesight. Places where there is darkness. Places where there is dancing, holding hands, or happiness. Places where the ambient temperature is warm enough to induce my daughter to wear shorts, tank tops, midriff T-shirts, or anything other than overalls, a sweater, and a goose down parka zipped up to her throat. Movies with a strong romance or sexual theme are to be avoided; movies which feature chain saws are okay. Hockey games are okay. Old folks homes are better.

Gaspode: WELCOME BACK!!!!!

We just finished our "romantic dinner for 5". I made red pepper and chicken ravioli, homemade bread, and ceasar salad. For dessert Meg and I made chocolate dipped strawberries and cherries. It was a nice evening. The bottle of valpolicella didn't hurt either :)

Catch you all Monday on the riddle, unless I have a chance to stop in and say "Hi" tomorrow before the race festivities begin. Doubtful since we'll be starting with a mimosa brunch for everyone here!

TTYL!!!!

LOL!!! :rotfl:

Thanks Steph.......all the little girls and boys have come and gone for the day, but I've printed the post and it will be displayed prominently next time. Actually, it was a good day.....so far. The oldest one is still out......due home by 11:30. We shall see.

To everyone else, thanks for your good wishes. A little good karma never hurts.

Like I said before, I'll be up at least until 11:30....so stop by and say "Hi"....... AIM is on.

Brian

Brian, you are a good dad. We only had one rule, home by midnight, and the last one in had to turn off the porch light. No dating till 16. And there were 5 girls in my family.

We had an uneventful day. The cable guy came and replaced the box, he never saw one that did all the "extra" channels but none of the basic ones. We did the usual stuff, home depot, staples, dry cleaners, grocery store and the book store. I got 5 new books. I let them be my Valentines gift. Now Pete is watching some movie through his eylids, I am sure, the dogs are passed out, and I am going to go to bed, too.

Tomorrow we are going to the Log and Vacation home show.

Have a great Sunday and holiday Monday.

:wave2: to everyone (sorry excuse for catch up!)

Hi all... dinner was good and now Luis is asleep and I am spoiling the cats with some treats :p

Donna, I am glad that you were able to meet up with LK at the game :) Added you to my AIM as well... I am helenabear001 there!

LK how did your mini egg rolls turn out?? I have to admit that is the one Chinese food I could never find myself able to get into :o

Sandi, I hope you and Billy had a wonderful night! Sounds like he did good :)

Steph, enjoy the races!!!!!!

Okay I am missing some IM names... I saw that someone said Lou is on and Brian is too... I just never saw the usernames... must be half blind :p

I am with Marsha, Brian!!! We had the same rules she did as well! Only when I was 18 did my curfew change and hten I was usually home by about 12:30-1 at the latest... and that was usually because I was the one driving everyone back home and all that :p

Have fun at the Log and Vacation home show!!!

Hi all
Hope you have all had, or are having, a very Happy Valentines Day.
I specifically told Lou not to buy me anything since I was hoping to splurge on something (jewelry) at WDW.
WELL....I got home from tanning this morning when he handed me a bag from Na Hoku jewlwers. I almost flipped when I saw this
O2003120316571059734.jpg
in the bag
He also gave me 3 roses. Not a bad morning
After that we went out for breakfast and did our part to stimulate the economy (and Target's daily sales totals).
I worked 4-7 tonight, so we ordered a pizza and are just taking it easy.
Tomorrow we have a birthday party to go to at McDonalds....I am NOT looking forward to that.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
