It's a new league.....will it be the same antics from Boy Wonder and his illustrious father, Coach Dick???
The game begins at 6....is it too late for the angels to attend???? ;)

I think you intimidate her, Lou. :p
Hmmm... I can think of at least one or two others who might intimidate her just a wee bit more ;)

Hmmm..AR finale tonight and the adventures of Coach Richard and son.

I'll have to read recaps for both tomorrow!

Actually Gail, I hope yours is not anything worth writing about this time. ::yes::

Gail, good luck tonight!!! I do hope this won't be anything like before :)

Gail, I'll cross my fingers for you guys tonight. I wish they'd put Coach Richard's wonder son on a different team. Sounds like he needs to be away from his old man.

Amy didn't win the election, but she's okay with that. I think she's just glad the speech is over. One of the kids that won gave an interesting speech. He said, "I don't have much to say, so just vote for me!" Popularity contests can be irritating! But I have to agree that I'm glad we don't have to practice the speech tonight. And she still gets to be part of leadership, just not senate.

We have a Troop meeting tonight, but I have a headache. I'm going to see if Allen won't be okay with me skipping out this month.

Mom is going for her colonoscopy tomorrow. I'm taking her and waiting while she has the test, so I can drive her home. The docs want her to have this since her brother died of colon cancer. Anyone know how long it takes? Guess I'd better pull out a good book to keep me company while I wait.

Here's another thing that I do for dinner. I buy a whole chicken at the grocery store. At Walmart they are like 69 cents a pound. I rinse it and put it in the crockpot with a squirt of water, salt and pepper. I set it on low and cook it all night. Maybe 10 hours or so. I let it cool for a while, then I pick it off the bone. I usually end up with a good jar of broth and a bowl of chicken.

You can either make BBQ chicken sandwiches or chicken & noodles or chicken & dumplings or a chicken casserole with the meat. Makes for a quick and inexpensive dinner. Besides your house smells yummy when you wake up in the morning.

MP, I think when I had mine I had to be there around 7 AM and was done by noon. I don't remember too much because the drugs were great.

I went grocery shopping and bought a roast and the soup to cook it with in the crockpot. Now I hope we have a night to eat it. This is turning into a regular coffee klatch.

Mom's is at 10:00, so I hope we're out by 3:00. I pick Amy up after school.

Thanks for the help there Lou ;)

Just finished watching Star Wars IV... my sweetie said he totally forgot how silly/cheesy it was and about all the one liners in it that were so good! What a cutie he is :teeth: Actually I was glad to lay down and watch the movie... the cold is still getting to me so I was awfully run down by the time I got home. May be "pathetic" and go to sleep early tonight :)

Feeling a little ooollllddd, uh, I mean COLD there Elaine!!!!

:teeth:

Actually a good night sleep would probably be the best thing for you right now. ::yes::

You have to watch aallllll the Star Wars movies one right after the other and see if you can still actually SEE after that.

When Return of the Jedi came out in theaters way back when, Lou and I and a friend went to see all three Star Wars movies on the big screen all on the same day. WHAT A HEADACHE!!!!!!!!!!!!
TALK ABOUT SEEING STARS!!!!!!!!!! :hyper: :teeth:

Joining in with colonoscopy info...isn't this a fun thread!!!! :p
I took my mom about 3 years ago and the time frame was about the same as Carol's, about 6 hours start to finish. MP - you may want to see if Amy can get a ride with someone else, or if the hospital isn't too far, plan to leave and get Amy then head back for your mom. She'll be released only once she's fully awake and recovered from the anesthetic and some people take longer than others.

We watched Star Wars on Sunday E...we won't have the dvd set until birthdays roll around in December....and I agree about all the cheesy, but great lines. Did you catch the special on the making of Star Wars, I think it was on A&E. It showed the auditions and lots of early stuff.

Finally, the final game update. Richard didn't show and I saw him at the soccer fields with their daughter so he had a convenient excuse. Boy Wonder played and Mommie Dearest (my other name for her won't pass the censors! :p ) sat parked in her van directly behind the backstop. Matt was catcher for the final inning so she had a great view of him!!!! ::yes:: When the game ended Boy Wonder started to line up with the team...but then Mommie yelled at him from the van so he walked off the field, gathered his stuff, and left the dugout.

Now, how does that look to most people....and most of these people came from other leagues. A kid is snubbing an entire team because his Mommy told him too. I'm done with them....as long as there are no further problems with Matt making a team in the Spring. They're the one's who will continue to look like jerks.

Gerri, you have no idea how old (or cold ;)) I feel sometimes :p But I am envious of you being able to watch the 1st trilogy to be released like that! I guarantee that once Star Wars III is released, I will watch *all* the series in one day (she says that now not knowing how many hours that realy would wind up being ;))

Actually once the TE of LOTR: ROTK was released, I did take a day to watch them all... once the EE of ROTK is released, I will be doing that... I hear he has about 60 minutes more to add to a 3.5 hour movie... I gues that will take me about 12 hours to get through :p

Gail, Luis was telling me about the A&E show, but he didn't bother to tell me when it ws on I guess. Supposedly a lto of that was on the DVD as well. If it isn't, I'll be mad that he watched and didn't tell me :p

What she failed to say was when we went to see the 3 movies, ROTJ had just opened. So the first two were a double feature. Then we went to dinner. Then we went to see ROTJ. Since it just opened, the theater was packed. We sat in like the 2nd row. Imagine the scene on the speed bikes through the forest, on a big screen, slouched back in the second row after already seeing two movies that day!

She's not kidding about seeing stars. I swear I was still moving when we got out of the theater!

Okay, knowing that, maybe I am not so envious of you :o
Anything that close and I get a bad headache... but still, you got to see them all together and that is better than me being a young one and drug to the movie theatre... remember Star Wars IV ran about a year... released in May I think... I was about 1 when I saw it before it left our small town theatre

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I loved the ending of Amazing Race

I went to the room-mom tea this afternoon, I am so thrilled with all the other moms that were chosen for the different 1st grade classrooms. It is going to be a great year.
While at the tea, I found out it is already pretty well known that I am going to be a scout leader :earseek: All I did was mention to the scout master that I might be interested :earseek:
Actually, it should be fun. The other mom who also said she 'might' be interested is also going to do it. I talked to her on the phone tonight and we have both decided no more eye contact with anyone in authority and no more saying maybe, LOL. Im glad it's her though, we should be able to work really well together.

Someone PM me how AR ended...........I missed it:( :(

Sorry Lars... wish I could help, but I don't watch much TV at all (and definitely not AR... not that it is bad, just never watch it)

Why is it that when I have a terrible itch on my back that I can't reach, Luis has to be gone/asleep?

Thanks for the heads up, Gail. I guess I'll go pick Amy up if we're still at the hospital. That'd make it easier for DH to pick her up and transport to ballet if needed. I'm thinking I may need some needlework as well as a book and maybe a magazine. :p Sounds like a fun day.

I spent most of the evening reading another thread. My eyes are crossing now, so I think I'll head for bed. I'll try to stop by in the morning before we head to the hospital.
