This is odd, I am watching the TE of LOTR: FOTR for the first time, it is odd to see the movie w/o the scenes they added. I just put in on and I can see the huge differences right now.

Hi Gail! How has your weekend been?

I forgot this earlier, but when I was at my dad's looking at pics, he came across some old slides from about 1967 or so... they were pics of him and my mom on vacation and my dad's graduation from Grad school at Ohio State. They had pics down in Florida which was cool to see (my grandparents lived there for a while and they had pics of their house). They also had some pics of the smokey mts. It was neat to see everything and really has me wanting to drive somewhere like they did and see all the sites along the way Silly, I know, but it was neat for me all the same!

no work for me today so we ended up doing house work instead Well, Lou did housework, I supervised

My girlfriend called from the hospital and they were going to take her brother off the respirator for the last time so she asked if her daughter could come over and hang out with us. She was here for about an hour or 2 when she freaked out and thought her dad forgot about her. So I had to track down my friend and have them come get her. As of the last time I talked to her, her brother is still hanging on but I should probably plan to attend a funeral this week or next He is only in his early 40's, bone cancer.

Enough downer stuff....lets complain about housework again. Lou decided we needed a new kitchen faucet. Go to Home Depot, buy new faucet. Come home disassmble old faucet. Realize you dont have all the needed parts. Go back to Home Depot 15 minutes before closing. Continue trying to install new faucet. Complete installation and realize NO WATER is coming out of the faucet. There is water going to the sink, he did test that. But for whatever reason there is no water coming out of the new faucet. So now we disassemble old faucet and will have to return to Home Depot tomorrow to try again.

So here we are with no running water in the kitchen. Did I menttion he decided to start this project while there were dirty dishes in the sink

Oh, the only good news for the day....we did get to barbeque and finish planting the front yard.

Hope everyone had a good fourth. DH grilled hamburgers. I fixed deviled eggs, baked beans and cottage cheese. Then we went to a little park to watch fireworks. When we got back we had strawberry shortcake. Our menu was planned around toothless boy. He did pretty well.

DH has tomorrow off, so he's cutting the lawn in the morning. I'm planning to wash the dirty camp clothes so we'll have stuff to pack for the family reunion in Branson.

What's happening Gail? I thought of you today. Bet you are having fun.

Sad story Bethany. I hope someday they wipe cancer out. It's so evil.

About home repair, Allen buys duct tape and caulk whenever he hits a home repair store. I don't know why. He just likes to buy them. Then he proceeds to ask me where they are. LOL! Hope he doesn't read this. He's pretty handy about fixing things and I'm not. So I don't know why he suspects I'll know where tools or supplies are kept?

Hope you all had a f a b u l o u s 4th July!!

Elaine - I think we need you round our house, one of our doors jammed shut about a month or two ago. A few days later my friends came around and figured out what was wrong with it (all the mechanism that attachs to the handle had twisted and snapped). So they removed that bit and the handle, told us to get a new one and we still haven't yet LOL!

Bethany - Sorry to hear about your friend's brother. Such a tragedy at any age.

Bethany - so sorry to hear about your friend's brother. A lady LK and I worked w/ died of bone cancer 2 yrs. ago. She was in her 40's and had 3 small kids. So very sad that cancer strikes such good people.

Steph - wonderful photo - should be entered in a contest!

E - DH surprises me sometimes w/ knowing how to fix/install things.

Donna - glad to hear the party was a success. It poured down rain around 4:30 at my IL's house. Lasted only 15-20 min. though. It was so freekin' hot in the house!!!

Had a decent time at the IL's. Got to see the new nephew. Always fun to hold new babies. NO IDEAS ANYONE!!
Not sure what we are doing today. DH went golfing this morning. Kids are still sleeping.

Good morning all! Would have slept in a little longer if someone here hadn't gone around waking us up

Today I have the cook out with my family at my dad's. Our town does all the celebration today so we always cook out which ever day that is.
Best news of today, though, is that Luis comes home

Merry, sounds like a great day for y'all! Glad that toothless boy did okay! I have to laugh at what Allen does. Amuses me to hear cute quirks of our spouses

Melissa, I will be right over! I wound up not doing the doors though, the metal bit I needed was "dead" and so it will have to wait until I can go to the store and pick up one! But I'll be glad to fly right on over and help you

Brian, thanks for that wake up... I surely didn't need to try to sleep in today!!! Actaually our neighborhood has this stupid "4th of July Celebration wake up call" thing they do... I really don't like it at all
