Hey Everyone,
What a crazy day here. Did the baby shower thing today...very strange...I felt like I was in an episode of SITC, one of my GF could very very easily pass for SJ, including the designer "casual" outfits for the shower....I felt very old and frumpy......
but I did realize that the reason I don't socialize with these people anymore is I have NOTHING in common with ANY of them....long story why...I'll explain in chat some night....
My two youngest were feeling a bit left by not being able to go on the trip...so for dinner, we had a campfire outside on the back deck and made s'mores
Have a great night all...i'm gonna go try to find Nascar 360.....apparently Jr. has a new girlfriend.... I thought for sure he'd wait for me

We're home after a long, fun day! The shower was nice.....my mom won the centerpiece from our table...which was a plant floating at the top of a lovely vase......and inside the vase was a Beta fish! Naturally grandma sent it home with me. The funny thing is, the kids haven't even noticed the fish yet! 
We also had a great evening at our friends house. The kids swam all day & evening.....the parents relaxed, until the kids decided to attack them with water balloons....and then the Super Soakers came out!!!
Our kids re now passed out and I'm not far behind them. Catch you in the A.M.!

Hi all. Sounds like a yummy evening here. Sorry I missed the strawberries, ice cream, smores and brownies. We are doing cake tomorrow. We're too full tonight. We're pulling out our last rum cake from the cruise for David's birthday cake. It was his request.
We had a great evening. Amy's class went well. She's now certified to babysit.
Then we went for dinner in Bricktown and to the ballpark for the game. It was a cool evening - perfect for baseball! We stuffed ourselves on pretzels and cotton candy. And our local team won. Thanks for all the good wishes for the birthday boy.
Now, back to packing. I deliver Amy tomorrow to the last week of camp for the Schones family this summer. (Thanks be to God!) Seems like camp is all we've been doing since school was out!
Hey, David's picture was in our local paper yesterday. They did an article on the mission trip and used his photo. I'd scan it if my computer hadn't blown up.

I was surprised that we had a great time at the party last night.
The restaurant was very nice with a private party room with a private outside deck.....the food was yummy....( I splurged and had turtle cheesecake...mmmmmm!)
afterwards, we went down to the bar area and there was a band that was pretty good.......they played Classic Rock: some Springsteen, BTO, Billy Joel, Beatles...etc
We all sang along...........(no spoons though.... )....it was a pretty good time!
Beautiful sunny day here...
....not sure what the plan is for the day......but I have to go pick up my kids sometime soon from my parents.....

Andrew is in the official countdown til his birthday.
Not much on the agenda today..getting the house picked up from the whirlwind that went through earlier yesterday
We were supposed to go pick strawberries this morning...but it's too late now.....guess there's always tomorrow.
to my buddy Brian for making the coffee this morning...
Anyone have any tips on teaching a 7 year old to swim??? AJ really really wants to pass the swim test this year at camp, and he's leaning on ME this morning to provide some instruction for him....what sort of technique works best at that age???

No cooking for me today, well except for the cupcakes, we went out to breakfast. Tonight we are going to the Springfield Grille for dinner. Yum!

Lars - I went w/ one of your wine choices. I looked like a lost soul trying to find it though. I never go in the state store, so I was lost at first w/ all the aisles of wines. Thanks!
Steph - Brendan swims in the neighbor's pools a lot, so he learned fast. No hints I could give you though.
LK - anymore of those brownies left?
The kids went to the IL's yesterday and slept over. DH and I had a nice time at the engagement party. Lots of guys he works with. The bride works for the FBI, so they were represented along w/ postal inspectors and other govt. workers. It was a safe and secure party to say the least.
I have been working on cleaning Shannon's room. All the barbies were naked - so I worked on getting them all dressed. Throwing a lot of junk out too, so I better hurry and get it to the garbage before they come home.
