Angelrose's Journey

Happy belated Easter! Hope you are feeling better Mary. I am starting to see a few buds here and there, which always makes me
feel better. I think we made it through another winter - it is finally starting to feel like Spring!

Same to you snappyd. I had a great Easter. We had the egg hunt and then the kids looked in the baskets I brought. They were super excited about the games and the two eggs with money in them. LOL Chuck still wasn't feeling well, so we all went out to Applebee's for lunch. Then he went right back home and Karen and I took the kids to Storybook Land. We walked around and I had to go on two spinney rides. One I loved, the turtle twirl. My cousin and I used to ride that all the time when we were kids. The other spinney ride I could have done without. But Jesse had a great time on it.

After a couple of hours they both got kind of whiny so it was time to go home. After all that we needed a nap. I stayed for supper which was a wonderful soup that Karen made. Neither kid wanted to try the soup, but Karen told them if they at least tried one bite, they could go with us to Dairy Queen. Jesse took his one spoonful, but Zoey refused. So the three of us got our Dairy Queen. That will be it for me for the season. I love it too much!.

I got home around 9 to find that the Easter bunny had left me two big baskets. Of laundry that is. LOL I got that done this morning.

Hello my friends. I've been doing very well with getting in my 10,000 steps 6 days a week. I usually go over the 10,000 too. I'm proud of myself for doing this. Too bad it doesn't equate to my losing weight.

I'm starting to get things set aside for our trip to Dollywood next month. 23 days and counting. I'm so excited.

Jesse did extremely well on his report card. He went up in everything. Now if he could get the self control down. He still has a ways to go in that department. But he is better than he used to be. Zoey is very funny. It's amazing the things I am not allowed to do when playing games with her.

I am really enjoying my cousin's retirement. We go out every Friday to IHOP and shopping and laughing for 3 or 4 hours. It's a wonder we don't get thrown out.

Next Monday I'll be going to Jesse's swim banquet. He will get a few awards and Zoey will get one too. Proud Grandmom here.

Hello dear friends, sorry I have been mia - R.L. has kept me very busy :headache:. Geez, enjoyed reading all the catching up since Christmas! Also good to hear everyone had a wonderful Easter :flower3:! See we have a new board, so hoping posts work the same way. o_O

A.R., so glad you are feeling better and back in the swing of things, walking, etc. (hugs). Nice your cousin, Joan, retired and ya'll are still up for your lively outings! Bet Jesse n Zoey have grown and nice to hear they are both doing well. Jesse sounds like a fish in the pool, with Zoey following along too! Yeah for that free pool membership from Karen, enjoy! Sorry to hear about Karen's Gma, I loved and miss mine, they indeed leave a big void in our hearts :(. Know you are looking forward to better times and your fun upcoming trip to Dollywood with your loving family. We really enjoyed visiting the Dixie Stampede on our trip some years back!

Minnie, congrats on another sweet miracle bundle of joy :cloud9:! How wonderful lil DGS Ben has a new cousin, Jackson, to love and look forward to visits with. Grands definitely put a bright spot in each day and keep our spirits young at heart. :lovestruc

Snappyd, hope your back has recovered. Also that things are thawing out nicely in your neck of the woods and you have a vacation in works. :flower:

Spring has sprung in Md. and we are enjoying the lovely weather, flowers and trees blooming. I have been very busy with my Mom's estate past year and getting the property ready to sell. We put it up for sale in Sept, buried a good luck St Joseph statue under the 'for sale' sign, had a buyer by January and thankfully we just completed closing :D! It was a lot of work prepping to sell and bittersweet to sell the old home place, but it's been empty almost 2 yrs and at our age difficult for us to manage upkeep, taxes, etc. I know she and Daddy are smiling from above, as the young couple who purchased have plans to do all sorts of good things with the place.

For Easter we traveled to N.C. w/our 2nd daughter n grands to visit #3 daughter n family for her BD/Easter combo. Had a wonderful visit, BD cookout, grands baked her a colorful 'spring fling' cake, cooked honey ham and trimmings for Easter, grands dyed eggs, had a fun easter egg hunt, made CC strawberries, and decorated CC peeps <3. We had a wonderful visit and cousins always enjoy their special time together :rainbow:. Even had opportunity to go our GD's soft ball game and our GS's Lacrosse game. Being 6 hrs away we don't get that opportunity often, so it was such a pleasure! 8-)

It was a long winter, thankful for our sun room which allows us to enjoy nature and bird watching - I'll try to post some pix. Thankfully Spring allows us more outings. We are back in our aqua pool exercise kids gave us membership for C'mas, Friday brings a BQ Ribs dinner with family/friends at our Am. Legion and Sat. brings grands flag foot ball and soccer. We're very blessed we're still in good enough health to enjoy and that life has a way of keeping us moving forward thankfully! ((hugs)) till next time :-)

So good to hear from you again 4nana. You have been keeping BUSY. That's what keeps us young. Can't wait to see your pictures.

Wow! 4Nana! You've been busy! So nice to be busy with family!

Happy that you're busy too Angelrose!

We've had quite a surprise. Our NY son & Daughter-in-law are having Jackson baptized! This son went as far as Confirmation in the Catholic Church, but they weren't married in the Church. So we're going back to NY for the Memorial weekend. I'm thrilled! (DH less so since he's got some pressures at work, but he'll only miss 3 days. But he'll be fine once we get going.)

My older son is finishing up his paternity leave so I only get Ben once a week. I've loved sleeping in! I def need my nap when he takes his morning nap when I get him at 6:45!

Happy Spring!

How wonderful Minnie, that Jackson is getting baptized and you get to go ! Such a special occasion, mine was 68yrs ago :rolleyes1, when I was 6 wks old. Know you enjoy having Ben once a week and getting your special Grandma time. I helped our local DD's/SIL's while they worked and took care of our 6 grands full time until they started pre-school. I so miss those days....some of best days of my life... next to being a mommie! :lovestruc

Hello ladies, so glad to see all of you. Sounds like children and grandchildren are keeping you all very busy! :yay::fish::sail::tigger:

I know it's optimistic, but last weekend I hung up my first hummingbird feeder. Some years they arrive the last weekend in April, I'm hoping for an early arrival this year. I can't tell you how much pleasure I get out of sitting on my porch when all the little birdies are flying and chatting around my head!

We are getting ready for a Dis trip next month, I'm afraid I won't fit into any of my summer clothes - it was a long winter and much beer and pasta were consumed :earboy2: I've started walking, but no where near 10,000 steps. I'll try again today - I would llke to lose 5 pounds in the next 3 weeks.

So nice to "see" you all again. :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe: :tiptoe:

Angelrose, here are just a few of our feathered friends :-). Sorry some may be lil blurry, they move swiftly for my old eyes n hands :p. Also a pix of our cozy sun room that DH built several yrs ago. It is on off our dining room - 3 walls of all windows that allow for much nature watching and a beautiful view when it snows:lovestruc. Not exactly sure how the new upload works, but I'll try thumbnail size. Hope you enjoy! :flower3:

Thanks 4nana, those are beautiful pictures of your birds. You are a very talented photographer.

Happy that your grandson is getting baptized. That will be a very special occasion.

Hi snappyd. Good to see you again. I won't be putting up my hummingbird feeder for another month. Don't forget to take some pictures of your Disney trip. 21 days and counting for our Dollywood trip. I've started packing my clothes already. LOL

I love red cardinals, they were my mother's favorite bird. Whenever I see one I think of her. When I was walking in the park yesterday one flew into a tree above my head!

That's sweet and a lovely reminder snapppyd. My DD1 has a cardinal that visits often, she feels it as connection to her MIL, as they were close. Mine is butterflies, every time I see one I think of my dear Mom. She passed of B/C, and I had beautiful artificial pink butterflies in her casket spray. My kids gave me a butterfly necklace after she passed, that means the world to me. Nice to have these signs to remind us our loving mothers are always with us in spirit. <3

I know what you mean 4nana. When we were in our pool, Ron used to wear a straw hat to protect his bald head from sunburn. Well, there was always a dragonfly that used to hitch a ride on his hat every year. Ron would swim back and forth and the dragonfly would just go along. He would stay on his hat for 5 or 10 minutes sometimes. It was so cute to watch.

After he was gone, the next summer one flew right in front of me and the lit on my arm. Just to let me know Ron is watching over me.

Oh that is so cute. It is cold enough here that I'm back to wearing thick socks around the house and a sweatshirt. (I turn off the heat on April 1st.)

Maybe when I get back from Dollywood I can put out the feeder. I do so love to watch them.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Tomorrow is DH's birthday! "see" you next week! :car:

Happy Birthday snappyd's husband and many more. Hope you have a great day.

Hope you all have a great weekend. I'm getting my hair done tomorrow. That's always a fun time.

Hello my friends. I just got back from our vacation in Dollywood. We had a wonderful time. As soon as I can get my notes together and the pictures downloaded into my computer I will make a trip report and link it in my signature. It may take a week or so before I can get all the photos. I can't wait to tell you all the fun we had.

I've put away most of my stuff and I have a couple of loads of laundry to do tomorrow. But I will be glad to sleep in my own bed tonight.

Hi all! We got back from 9 nights in Disney on Saturday. We had the best time ever! AngelRose, I know what you mean about laundry, I did about 8 loads on Sunday and two more yesterday. On our way to NJ for a four day Memorial Day weekend. I'll try to post some trip report and picture stuff next week!!!

Happy Memorial Day!!
