Angelrose's Journey

Thanks snappyd and minniecarousel. I have calmed down and I'm normal again. Well, as normal as I can get. :rotfl: The boy is definitely off the team now. Thank goodness. I don't remember bullying being such a big problem when I was a kid or even when Chuck was growing up. There were always one or two, but it seems like it is out of control now.

I'm glad you liked the pictures of the party minniecarousel. Everyone did have a great time. Enjoy your game tomorrow night.

Snappyd, enjoy the wedding and your time in NJ.

Tomorrow I'm going to the Smithville Octoberfest. It's a craft fare and lots of good food that I probably won't even look at. Then I will run over to the mall to get Jesse's Christmas ornament.

Sunday we are going to the Wheaton village craft fare after swimming. We switched things around because Karen is working so much overtime. She'll have 80 hours logged in this week and probably the same next week. I feel so bad for her. Hopefully this project will be the last she has to do and will work in another area.

I went to the dermatologist Thursday morning. I had these rough patches on my face, chest, hands and shoulders. Now I go every 6 months and the doctor said they were nothing. This time, the doctor had retired and I had the nurse practitioner. Well, she did a head to toe exam, something the doctor never did and froze over a dozen spots. I look like I have the measles. LOL But I'm glad to have it done finally. Hopefully they will fade a bit before I go to the cousins dinner next Thursday. I'm looking forward to that.

I'm going to try to post from the new Photobucket (which I find very hard to use!)

Me and my sisters (The Golden Girls) at the Yachtsman Steakhouse with two of our favorite waiters. I'm in yellow, finishing a nice Merlot I had with dinner.

Oh snappyd what great pictures. You look wonderful in all of them, but I really like that yellow top. Glad you all had a great time.

We had our cousins dinner last night and had a wonderful time as usual. Lots of laughs and good food. I didn't get home until 9:45.

I'm in the peach jeans.

I got my hair done today in the pouring rain of course. I stopped at Boscov's and finally got a raincoat with a hood. I put it on immediately.

We have had so much rain. I'm really sick of it. I want cooler weather and sunshine!

Karen's birthday is tomorrow and she is doing a 10K, in the rain, on the boardwalk. Those boards getting really slick when wet, so please say a little prayer that she doesn't hurt herself.

Hello my friends. Karen did well on her birthday 10K. We all went out to dinner at Olive Garden. They drove me home and then I watched the kids while they went to a movie.

Today was very upsetting. I went over to Chuck house and Karen was there, which was kind of strange. I went in and she told me there had been an incident down the street. A teen age girl was almost abducted. Luckily a neighbor intervened and she got away. Yesterday Jesse told Karen that a man was watching them from the woods and told them, "It's ok kids, you don't have to be afraid of me". They hid under the trampoline until he left. Karen went out of her mind. She told them if a stranger comes again, they are to run inside anyones home. Jesse is still just five and doesn't really understand that someone would harm him.

Karen told him if someone grabs him, he has to scream and punch, hit scratch and bite to get away. I talked to him again today and he still thinks its a game. He said, "what if I punch him once, and then tickle him once." NO, you have to keep punching and biting to get away. They could take you away and we would never see you again and we would all cry. I think that he understood that.

So now, all kids will have to play together and an adult will be there watching at all times. Karen has Thursdays and the other parents will take the other days. The cop across the street said he will get the men together and walk the woods to make sure there are no homeless in the woods behind the homes. The police have been notified also.

It's so scary. I used to let Jesse play across the street and think nothing of it and just go inside to read. I will never do that again.

Angelrose, I sent you a PM. I've been wanting to for a while now, but your latest post tells me I am doing the right thing. I think you should take down some of the kids pictures.

I hope they find the man in the woods and everyone stays safe.

Hugs!

(I'll be away til Monday, talk to you then!)

Hope everything has calmed down a bit, you have had quite a week or two!

Love the picture from the cousins dinner, you look like you always have such a good time.

Disney, yea!!!! :cool1: :cool1: Just what you all need, time away to have fun and get away from the real world. I know you are probably packing already, lol! Dh and I hope to go in April, he needs a vacation.

It certainly did get cold this week, had to take my plants in off the terrace in New York, now I have no room to move around.

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday, talk tomorrow!

:goodvibes

Hi snappyd. Things have calmed down a tad. Today was half day for Jesse, so I had to be there at 1:30. The bus came around 2 and since it was raining, I let him watch a movie. Then we played down in the basement for a while. When we came back up the rain had stopped and he wanted to play with his friends. He rode his bike over and read until Karen came home with Zoey.

Tonight I noticed a message on my machine. It's upstairs so I don't check it too often. It was a reminder that I have a checkup tomorrow morning. EEEEKKK I forgot all about it and forgot to call them today to tell them I wanted a flu shot. So I don't know if they have it on hand tomorrow or if they have to order it. I would hate to have to make a special trip just to get that darn shot.

We'll be busy this weekend. Saturday we are going to Storybook Land with Karen's friend. When Zoey heard about it, she said, "And you're coming!" Of course, I wouldn't miss it. She also told me that she will ride the rides too. Sometimes she gets a little scared and won't ride them even though she has ridden them before.

Sunday is the usual swim lessons. I'm so happy to be included in so many of their activities.

I did it! I have my plane reservations for DW. Only 98 more days to go. No I haven't started to pack just yet.

Next I have to get my limo reservations, but I'll save that for another day.

:wave2: Hello ladies, long time no see and time for catch up!

Angelrose, so sorry about your neighborhood incident and how very scary something like that could happen . I can imagine how upsetting it was and how everyone is on high alert :scared: . I don't think we realize the full danger until it hits close to home. I ditto w/Snapppyd, unfortunately a lot of predators out there snooping on mess boards/FB, and we can’t be too careful with our precious lil ones. :worried:

Love the Princess/Pirate party and photos! Looks like a fun party and I can’t believe how fast Jesse & Zoey are growing up and I’ve so enjoyed watching :goodvibes. Always enjoy your cousins photo, nice you get together often for your fun catch up dinners! :flower3:

How wonderful it's count down time for fun WDW family trip and you have your ticket already! :thumbsup2

*Snapppyd, such a nice sisters photo and glad you all had some me time relaxing together....that's what family is all about! Also, really like that pic of you & your hubbie, my you two do stay busy! How happy you look and what a lovely couple you make.

*Minniecarousel, your San Francisco dinner outing brings back many fond memories of our only trip to that area, where we stayed a couple nights and then rented a car for a beautiful drive up to Washington state to visit our DD and family when they lived there. :goodvibes

Sorry I am not on here as much as was, but my dear Mom has become my full focus and we spend a lot of time traveling to visit past 3 mos. Atho her leg has mended well, sadly she has slipped back mentally with all her frail 100lb 84yo body has gone thru w/fall, surgery, therapy, meds, etc. Much to my dismay, the dr does not recommend breast cancer surgery at this time, as could make things worse rather than better :(. Can’t begin to tell you how heavy my heart is and how sad it makes me :sad1:. DH & I had planned to bring her home to live w/us, but our children & my siblings do not feel we could handle all entailed, as she requires 24/7 care, which may be more than we are able to provide at our ages, plus I still work PT. She is not a candidate for asst living or group home, so we will be selling her home/assets so she can remain in the nursing/rehab home she's in now. Leaving her there is another guilt ridden heartache as always thought I'd be the one taking care of her :guilty:. I'm told it's the best nursing hme in 3 counties and realize she is safe, well taken care of, has descent food, daily exercise, and big plus - she likes the staff! We're taking care of her poodle, he has adjusted well and seems happy - it brightens her day when we bring him to visit her....next weeks visit he will be sorting his Halloween costume ;)! I always try to think positive, believe there is always room for miracle, so will keep the faith and pray we are doing the right thing. Also praying by some miracle she will regain her strength and be a candidate for surgery and treatment. ^j^

On a better note - it's Autumn - my favorite season :thumbsup2! Had the grands over week-end for dinner and to make rice krispy Haunted Houses and decorate, they turned out so cute! Loving fall, colorful foliage, cooler temps - heat is on! So anxious for a visit Pumpkin Farm this week-end w/sweet grands for hay ride, pumpkin donuts, apple cider slush and other fun activities! :teeth:

Everyone take good care! :grouphug:

4nana, I am so sorry to hear of your dear mother's health problems. But I do agree that she needs to stay in the nursing home. It really is best for her. I tried to take care of my dad after his stroke and it was much too much for us to handle. We were checking into nursing homes when he passed away.

I know it's so sad to have to be so careful anymore. We are still making Jesse stay right in the front yard with someone always right there watching. Maybe by next summer we can let him go further, but right now, we just can't take the chance. There isn't much the police can do about the druggie down the street and her weird friend. She isn't breaking any laws. I found out that her parents basically threw her out and bought that house for her. So she has no job and no bills to pay since her parents pay for everything. So we just have to watchful all the time.

The pumpkin farm sounds great. We used to go to one where you could pick apples and pumpkins, hay rides and apple cider donuts. Plus all kinds of baked goodies. It sure was fun.

Now you have a pumpkin donut for me.

Oh, Nana, I know all too well the angst involved in caring for an elderly parent. The good part is that she appears happy where she is - what a blessing!

How about some good news: I'm gonna be a Grandma! The son and daughter-in-law who live near-by are due in early May. They told us by giving us Mickey ears with the names "Grandpa" and "Grandma"! We are thrilled!

Oh BIG congrats minniecarousel. That is wonderful news. I wish your son and daughter in law the best.

Congratulations minniecarousel and family! How wonderful, I'm so happy for you!!!!!
Nothing quite as special as a grandchild to fill our hearts with their unimaginable love and joy! :cloud9:

Thank you ladies so much for your continued support and concern . Sadly my dear Moma's body is showing signs of cancer advancing and dr/family are in agreement she will be more comfortable at the Hospice House during this difficult time :worried:. Thankfully Hospice has been making daily visits a few weeks and helping us to cope. Seems one minute I'm fine and strong, the next I'm overwhelmed w/tears and grief, as even at 66 yo, I can't imagine life without my dear sweet Moma . Our hearts are so heavy....we will spend all the time we can w/her during these last weeks/months making her as comfortable as possible, as know she much make this journey alone :sad1:. I realize it's all part of God's plan, so will lean on my strong faith, and loving family during these sad, sad, days :(. If I may ask, Audrey and family, would appreciate and could use your prayers...thank you.

Of course, prayers from me. I just went to the funeral on Wednesday of one of the neighborhood moms from my childhood. It was heart-warming to see her great-grands there - all a part of the circle of life. I still miss my mom every day, and she's been gone for 3 1/2 years. Hang in there.

Oh 4nana, my heart goes out to you. Of course you and Audrey and her family all have my prayers.

It's been 36 years since my mom passed and I still miss her.
