Congratulations!!! Babies are awesome!! I must have missed it, but did Chuck get that job? I know how hard some areas have with jobs now. Hoping he did! Enjoy all the pink purchasing!!! Dawn
Yes Pixiefan, Chuck did get the new job. He is just waiting for his security clearance. Never mind that he already has it from his previous job and has been working on this project since the beginning. LOL
I got to see my princess this afternoon and got to hold her! Oh she is just so precious. The cardiologist said that her heart is fine and won't need surgery and will probably be out of the NICU by Friday. The gave her her first real feeling while I was there to see if she could suck. Oh yeah. She inhaled that formula. It was only 10 cc or something like that. Not very much. She did forget to breathe while sucking so she got a 9 out of 10. She's doing very well. The funny thing was watching Chuck try to burp this little thing. She wasn't having any of it. She wanted more FOOD. Finally out comes this little beep. heh heh heh But she wasn't allowed any more formula for another 3 hours. Then they would give her more.
I held her for the last few minutes before she had to go back in her incubator. It just wasn't long enough!
Awww Angelrose , congratualtions to all and welcome to our wonderful world PrincessZoey. She's beautiful and I know she fills everyones hearts with love and homes with much joy, for nothing compares to a new blessing . I'm betting Grandpa Ron is looking down and smiling from above too . Godspeed
Thanks 4nana. You know I was thinking the same thing. Ron must be very proud of his new granddaughter. I'll bet he was holding her before she was born to make sure she would be OK.
Zoey is out of the NICU and is the room with her momma now. They will both be coming home tomorrow. Jesse will finally get to see his new sister. I'm sure he will be so glad to have his momma back home again.
She is absolutely adorable. And funny enough, she looks a bit like both Chuck and Karen. I'm so glad to hear that her heart is OK and that she's out of the NICU. I know Jesse (and Grandma) can't wait until she can come home!!
Thank you ksumn1. I can't tell you how happy I am that she is out of NICU.
The first time I saw her it was like looking at Jesse the first time. She has the same mouth and everything. Now Jesse is the spitting image of Ron at that age. When we were looking at pictures of Ron for his funeral we found one picture that you would swear was Jesse. Chuck looks a lot like Ron but there is a teensy bit of me in Chuck. Mainly his warped sense of humor. I do see a bit of Karen is Zoey.
Hello my friends. I got to spend two hours this morning holding my little princess. Oh she is so tiny and sweet. She was looking right at me. I know she can't focus yet, but I can dream. LOL
Here are a few more pictures.
I love this next one. Karen took a picture of Chuck and Zoey taking a little nap.
I had such a nice morning. Karen and I talked and then Chuck came back in from putting air in my tires and we all talked about our next trip to DW in 2012 or 2013. I hated to put her down, but I had to go and let them get ready to take her for her first pictures. I can't wait to see them.
Awww Angelrose, what a special time bonding with your new little princess Zoey . She's so tiny and adorable, I can smell baby scent and she simply makes me want to snuggle up . For me, each birth of our sweet grandchildren is like the very first one...so very special . They are such a blessings and there is no other love like begin a grandparent . Love and blessings to you and all your family.
