Angelrose's Journey

Oh my dear friends, Thank You so much for your support. I do feel so much better today. The heat has broken and that was a big help. Some other friends have said the same thing to me. I have been able to take care of a lot more things that I ever thought I could. I can still take care of the house and I can weed whack with the best of them. I take care of the pool chemicals and keep the pool sparkling all summer. I think Ron would be proud of me.

I have 10 acres of mostly woods. But I can take care of the clearings around the house. I like my privacy. I know that sometime I will have to leave my house. But hopefully not for another 20 years or so. LOL

CJ, Sue told me I should have kicked the pool guy into my pool. heh heh heh After he fixed my hoses that is. Somehow I knew she would say something like that.

Glad you are feeling better. Ron would be proud of you.

So sorry you weren't feeling good Angelrose. That pool guy wasn't very nice at all. I want to push him into the pool myself. ;)

Always amazes me how a new day can perk us up! I am glad you feel better - going to be 95 and high humidity again today, but that's down from 100, so no complaints! Taking Sophia to Target and Babies r Us this morning just so we can get out for awhile - too hot for a playground.

Hey, haven't seen a pic of Jesse lately - have any to post? I might have one of Sophia to share too. ;)
She was enjoying some strawberries and whipped cream in the first one!

Thank you hellokitty86. At first I felt the same way, but after thinking about it, I believe he was trying to be helpful. It's just that everything stressed me out that day. The heat and humidity made me feel sick and the worry about the silly hose connector. I mean, what's the worst that could happen?? I would miss a few days of swimming. Until he could come and fix it. but I do feel so much better now. I can laugh at the problem now.

Christine, Sofia is just a doll baby. No doubt about it. You're right, I haven't posted any pictures of Jesse in a while. I'll have to look and see what new ones Karen has.

Thank you amyy. I think he would be proud of me too. I'm doing things that I never thought I could before. I know he is helping me face these things.

Angelrose, Jesse just gets cuter and cuter!! I love how he is having so much fun! He is so much more outgoing than Sophia - she would not go near a character of any kind. At least she does not hide when people stop to say hello to her when we're out, but she will not say hi back - just stares at them! lol She will be 2 Sept 2 - hoping around 3 1/2 she might be ready for her first WDW visit, but if not, we will happily wait.

How is Karen feeling? I saw her post on FB saying no pink or frilly dresses and had to smile when I read your post here that you have every intention of buying Zoey cute things.:thumbsup2 Was thinking how Karen may hope Zoey will not like pink and frills, but she could turn out be a very girlie little girl - it's not really up to us, but she is not yet the mother of a girl and will learn these things in time. :goodvibes

When Sophia was a baby, my sil kept saying how she was going to be all sports and a "tomboy", and kind of pushed for that, but now that she's almost two, he can see she is not like that at all. Sophia loves her baby dolls and puppies...and when she wears a dress, she twirls to show us...oh, and she LOVES bows in her hair.

Hi Angelrose
I know you don't know me, but I have followed your thread since I joined the dis. I have worried about you when you had not posted in a while and hoped you were doing well. I just wanted you to know I am proud of how well you are doing on your own and I know Ron is too. And Jesse is such a cutie.
Hope you are having a good weekend. Wish I had a pool to be in today:).

Christine, Karen is feeling PREGNANT! LOL She gets tired very easily and is ready for bed around 8. But other than that she is doing very well this time. We will see what temperment our little Zoey Lynn has in 8 weeks. I kid Karen every chance I get about the pink frilly things. I think she may ban me from the house. LOL

hellokitty86, I'm glad you liked the pictures. Jesse does love all the characters and is a typical "boy" and gets into everything.

LizabethSwan, thank you for your support. I'm glad you decided to post here. Yes I am having a good weekend. I did some shopping and treated myself to some KFC. Bad for me, but I hadn't had it in years, so I gave in to temptation. Now I have to swim about 100 laps in the pool to make up for it.

It rained here today, so I didn't get in the pool. I was too tired from shopping. But after grocery shopping tomorrow, I will definitely get in.

Angelrose, I am glad you had a nice weekend, and enjoyed getting KFC.
I always enjoy eating there as well. We all need to give ourselves a treat every now and then.:)

Hi AngelRose (and everyone else!).

The pics of Jesse are adorable! :goodvibes

Angel, I think something must be going around. Friday evening we were sitting out on our front porch having a nice cold beer, blissfully unaware that our washing machine was in the process of flooding our kitchen, powder room, utility room and basement :scared1:

What a mess - it was running for about 1 1/2 hours before we went in and saw it, the water ran thru the floor and flooded the basement - not the way we wanted to start our weekend.

On the bright side, I finally got my car back from the shop - you would never know I had the accident - it looks new!

Hope things quiet down for us for a little while! :)

oh snappyd that is terrible. With all the trouble I had this spring with the flooding in the basement, I know what you are going through. I'm glad you got your car back. No more accidents, you hear??

Glad you all enjoyed the pictures of Jesse. I can't help but smile when I see his laughing face. He brings joy to my heart. I wish Ron could be here to have as much fun with him as I do.

It hasn't ended yet, I woke up this morning and my back went out, I think from all the stress this past couple of weeks.

Angel maybe you could send me Jesse for a day to make me feel better, LOL

I keep asking DH, if I'm doing this bad in my early '50s what will become of me in my '60s and '70s??

Don't mean to hijack your thread, just wanted you to know we all have our hard periods.

It's going to be so hot and humid today, maybe you can swim in between the rain showers :thumbsup2

Angelrose, that definitely sounds like Sue!!! :lmao:

You would not want to push the pool guy in though.... he might leave a nasty ring! Bet Sue did not think of that..... :confused3:)

Hope all is going well for you - let me know if there is anything at Disney you "forgot"... I would be glad to do some shopping for you!

Oh snappyd, I'm so sorry your back went out. Can you take anything for it? I used to take a muscle relaxant when mine when out. They made me feel like crap, but it did ease the back.

I will gladly lend you Jesse's smile to make you feel better. But that's all. LOL

We had no rain showers here today. Just a couple of drops here and there. So I had a good day in the pool.

CJ, I never thought of that!:rotfl: Could you say a few extra prayers for Ann? She is having a lot of medical problems right now. She was in the hospital for a few days and they can't seem to find out one of the problems. Her sister is keeping us updated on her condition and I think she is coming home today. I just hate it when one of my friends is in pain.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm good on Disney things for a while. heh heh heh I know that is a shock. Are you going soon? Have a wonderful time.

We will be headed to Orlando August 3 and it can't come soon enough. You know how that goes!!!

Let Ann know she is in my thoughts. Hopefully she gets some answers soon. Do you guys have a board you are on, or how do you keep in touch? I hear from Sue every once in a while, but that is about it. Hoping our life will slow down a bit now that we don't have a high schooler, but time will tell.:)

Wow, your trip is getting close. I know you will have a great time. You will have to write a trip report so we can all join you.

The old gang gets together on Messenger to chat. There aren't many of the original gang left. It's mainly Sue, Donna, Connie, me and sometimes Pat and Ann. Ann is home now and we chatted last night. She feels a lot better but they still don't know where she is bleeding from. More tests on Monday.

I do miss the old days when we had virtual hot tub parties in the Yahoo club. That was fun. Blu has moved to Las Vegas. Did you know that? Cyndi is still in Sitka and her daughter has graduated high school I think. Diana has her hands full with her two boys. Mary C. still has her web tv and can't come to chat. Sue does hear from her occasionally. That's about all we hear from. The others have gone on to other things.

Hello my friends. It's been a while since I posted anything. It's just been too hot to do anything. I'm either in the ac reading or in the pool.

The kids took me out to dinner a couple of weeks ago. It was called Texas Roadhouse I think. The had peanuts on the tables and country music. Karen and I both had a nice filet and Chuck had the salmon. Our steaks were wonderful and the mashed potatoes were out of this world. Nice and chunky red potatoes. MMMMMMMMM It was a nice surprise and I got to spend some time with Jesse. He loves for me to read to him in the car and before he goes to bed.

Tomorrow would have been our 45th anniversary. I can't believe that so many years have passed since we were married. I can remember the day perfectly. It was a simple wedding. We were married by a justice of the peace. I'm Catholic and since Ron was divorced we couldn't be married in church. My parents were NOT happy about it. My mother wore navy blue to the wedding. Only because she didn't have a black dress. LOL As soon as I said "I do", she was GONE. I've never seen my mother move so fast in my life. Oh well, I was happy. My girlfriend stood up for me and Ron's friend was best man. After the wedding, we went to a restaurant and had a lovely breakfast with our friends. After they left, we went for a walk on the boardwalk and then went to the movie, "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines". Then we walked a bit more on the boardwalk. We had a nice dinner at a seafood place in Atlantic City that is no longer there. Anyone remember Hackney's? We then went on a speed boat ride from Hackney's down the shoreline. It was a wonderful day and we both went home happy.

Funny thing though. On Monday when I went back to work my mom called me. She wanted to know if I "pleased my new husband". Wasn't that sweet? When I told Ron, he said she should have asked if he pleased me! LOL Oh the memories. We did have such a wonderful married life together. I miss him.
