Angelrose's Journey

Oh I do hope we meet up. I'll be there from the 11th to the 20th. Our first park day will be the MK on the 12th. Maybe we can meet up sometime during the day there?

The 12th is Son's BD, so he gets to decide what park! I do know that we are eating at LeCellier that night. We'll have to compare notes when the time gets closer.

Sounds good to me. Karen has already made our schedule so I know where we're going to be each day. The 13th is Epcot day, the 14th is MGM, 15th is AK, the 16th is MK in the morning and Epcot at night, 17th is AK again and the 18th is MK for me alone and Epcot in the evening, 19th is MK and MGM and the 20th is MK and Epcot.

I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed that Ron was laughing at me for getting so upset about the volunteering. He was waving his hands like cool down and wait. So maybe he is telling me something better will come up later on? I don't know, but it was good to see that smile again.

Oh AngelRose I'm so sorry the hospital is being such a pain. You would think they would be so much nicer about it all. I don't understand when people are more kind to their volunteers. The volunteers make their lives so much easier. Sorry you had such a rough day when you went there.

Sorry but you were wrong when you said "Jesse will never know how much his Grandpop loved him and wanted to play with him." I know he won't remember first hand but he does have all of you to tell him and remind him. And when he gets old enough he has those things for you to give him from his Grandpop. Do you know how special those will be for him? Do you have many pictures of the two of them together? If so, why don't you get extra copies of those made and make him a special photo album of just Jesse & Grandpop? Throw in some pictures of Ron through the years. I bet that will be priceless for Jesse! I only have 2 or 3 pictures of my grandfather and wish I had more. They said I was his baby when I was little but sadly I don't remember much of that. I wasn't lucky enough to have someone to remind me how much my grandfather loved me so I forgot about our special times. (My mother wouldn't let me see my grandmother for a long time because she didn't like my dad's side of the family.) Anyway, Jesse is very blessed to have you as a grandmother!

Another thing you could do is make a little journal for him where you write down your memories of the special moments Ron & Jesse shared. You can also write about how you two met, your special dates, your Disney trips, Wedding, the birth of your son, Jesse's birth, Ron & Karen's wedding, etc. I know I would feel honored to have something like that from anyone in my family. That may also be healing for you. That way you know that Jesse will always know Ron and know who he really was. And he will know how much he loved him!!!

Aww, the dream sounds sweet. I'm glad you had another dream about him. He's telling you it is going to be just fine.

Minnie56 I'm okay. Today I had my colonoscopy. Monday morning they called to tell me that I had to have another endoscopy too. When they sucked out all of my blood last week for some tests they tested me for Celiac's. That test came back positive so they needed to biopsy my small intestines. They found one polyp, a small hiatal hernia and some internal hemorrhoids. Now we wait for these biopsies to come back. If this shows Celiac's then no more gluten for me. But I really am hoping that is what it is. I know that sounds bad, but I do want it to be that. I've tested positive for an auto-immune disease for over 10 years now, they just can't pinpoint it because there are over 200 of them and I don't nicely fall into any one category. But if I do have this then we know how to treat it and it can make me feel better all around. So I won't be upset if this is what I have. I really won't be upset. It can even cause the fatigue and joint pain that I have.

I haven't been around because Monday night was the concert where I'd been asking the guy to play in our town. It was great and there were about 40 people there! YAY!!! Then after lunch on Tuesday I had to go on clear liquids so I was too tired and blah to get on here.

How are all of you?

chell, I'm hoping you get the results you want. That would answer so many questions for you and get started on the right treatment.

I only have a couple of pictures of Ron and Jesse. He was always the one who took the pictures. But I will tell him about how Ron loved to play with him. We already have a family history of Ron, so he can read that when he's old enough. I just wish they had more time together when Jesse would remember.

What a beautiful picture. Ron is so handsome! I haven't been on the Dis much and haven't checked your thread in some time, but I do think of you often, and hope you are doing well!:goodvibes

Thank you pixie dust 112. Ron was very handsome. He didn't like to smile with his mouth open because some of his teeth were crooked. When he smiled at me it was like sunshine.

Angelrose I hope you had a wonderful time with your family yesterday!

Hello!

Hope everyone is enjoying a nice weekend...and enjoyed a fun Halloween?
It was busier for the trick or treaters this year, perhaps being a Saturday?

I think time will fly to Christmas now...

How are you feeling Chell?

We didn't have any trick or treaters here. We were the only ones on our street who were home. It was raining and cool, maybe they all went to an indoor event. Who knows. We have never had anyone come here for Halloween. We don't even buy candy anymore.

I'm okay. I was feeling okay for a while but this time the meds haven't kept me feeling as well for as long as they did last time. This morning I had a bright idea to eat a bowl of Cream of Wheat. Well that would answer some questions for me, right? It sure did. My stomach & belly have hurt like heck ever since. Even if my test comes back negative I need to cut out the gluten. Basically I'm feeling like I have menstrual cramps 24/7. Right now they are even hurting into my back. Next weekend we will be cleaning out the cabinets. All the open stuff will go to family and the unopened stuff will go to the food bank.

I need to look at our Disney dining plans to see what I need to adjust. Victora & Alberts is one of the places we keep thinking of doing but with this added to all of my allergies I'm afraid I'll be too much of a pain in the rear for them.

This morning I was thinking of Angelrose and thinking that I'm ready to put up our Christmas tree. Just yesterday Larry put the little table back where the tree is supposed to go. He moved it from the spot in the kitchen where he is going to put my treadmill. Right now it is in the basement. I told him I've got to get on it even if it is for only 5 minutes a day.

How are you doing? Did you finally get all over your Disney crud?

chell I sure hope you start to feel better soon! But it does look like gluten is a no no for you.

I had a great time on Halloween. I got to the kids around 3:30 and as I was walking up to the house, I heard Karen yelling from across the street "HELLO GRANDMOM" Well Jesse couldn't get across the street fast enough. I got a big hug and then we ran into the house. I gave him a new little truck that has Superman's cape on it. He loved it. Then Karen's sister and her family arrived. Right after that, Karen's friend Liz arrived with her family and then Shauna came with her family. Four little boys running around, plus Karen's niece Amy running around with them. Her older niece Angel tried to keep them in check. But everyone got along well. The house smelled so good from the gumbo they made. They had two trays of sandwiches, macaroni salad, sticky rice for the gumbo, two kinds of brownies, apple crisp that Liz's husband made, chocolate cream cake, and little mousse cups. I had one of everything! After dinner they got the kids into their costumes and off they went. Karen had made 50 bags for the trick or treaters. They went pretty fast. The little ones came out first. They were all so cute and polite. They all said thank you and happy Halloween. If they were too young, the moms said it for them. Then the older ones came out. One "kid" had whiskers! I asked him if he thought he was just a tad too old for this. He said, 'Nope, not at all". He got his little bag. A couple of boys came around with boxes all over them. I said that was really original. They told me they got it out of our trash. :rotfl: The bags of candy went and Chuck got a couple more bags of candy to pass out. Just as that was disappearing, Karen came back with Jesse's loot and dumped it all in the bin to give out. Jesse doesn't like candy. However he does like hot pepper cheese and barbeque chips. He's got a real Italian tummy. He didn't eat his dinner so Karen gave him some cereal bars and a cup of milk and then it was bedtime. He protested, but he was so tired, he fell asleep right away. We talked for a little while and then I left for home. We were lucky that the rain held off. I wasn't home 10 minutes before it started to rain.

Before dinner, I was telling Karen that I ordered some charms for my Pandora bracelet. Her friend Liz opened her purse and brought out her mom's bracelet. Her mom passed away right after Ron. She told me to pick out a charm, but she thought she knew which one I would pick. I picked out the one that said Grandma on it. It was so pretty. She put it on my bracelet for me. Wasn't that sweet of her? She had given one to Karen before. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.

Sounds like a wonderful evening. I can't believe Jesse likes hot pepper cheese! Is it the Monterey Jack with jalapenos in it? Can you get the Colby Pepper Jack there? I can't remember the real name. That is my favorite! I love it at room temperature. But I love just plain Colby Jack. Hmm, I think we need to buy some cheese. There is a cheese factory up the mountain that I love to go to. They make cheddar cheese there that is just incredible.

That was so sweet of her to give you a charm. I'm so glad your evening went so well. I was thinking about you last night hoping you were having a wonderful time!

As of tomorrow I'll start going gluten free.

Just think we both get to go to WDW next month!!!

Actually it is American cheese with jalapenos. They can only get it at one grocery store here. But I love it. Unfortunately I can't have it in the house or my tummy gets mad at me. I can eat it occasionally, but not every day. I love the Monterey jack cheese too.

Good luck with the gluten free.

39 more days!

Oh Chell that is a shame...relief for a little longer would have been awfully nice wouldn't it? If you are dilligent about your diet does that do the trick?
That's no fun at all...
It can be the hardest thing as well about going away..keeping some sort of routine.

Sounds like you had a great Halloween weekend Angelrose! WOW-Jesse has some pretty good taste buds! Tha's pretty potent stuff LOL...lots of fun it sounds like. I love all cheeses! My downfall---one of them!

I am beginning to feel like myself..I think I am going to get my H1N1 shot tomorrow...so hopefully things stay that way!

Nite ladies...:thumbsup2

Ooh, I've never seen American cheese with Jalapenos.

Thanks for the luck! I sure need it. That stuff is sneaky! Last night I was reading up on stuff for Thanksgiving. It said I needed to watch out for what brand of turkey to buy. Some of the flavorings they inject them with contain gluten. :faint:

Again, I'm SO glad you had a wonderful Halloween.

Now you only have 38 more days. Goodness, it will be here before you know it!

So Minnie56 did you get your shot today? Larry got his regular flu shot a few weeks ago. I don't know if anyone here has that one yet. Glad you are feeling better.

Larry called the doctor for me today. It's easier for him since I'm at work and don't want everyone to hear every little thing. I'm still cramping a LOT today. They said that could be from them removing the polyp. They said if it gets unbearable to come in or go to the ER. And to do the same if I start bleeding. I think it is because everything got cleaned out and is now super sensitive to all the foods. I'm sure the polyp removal has something to do with it too. But I think everything is sensitive to the food now too.

They say if you are completely gluten free everything will heal itself but that can take 2 -3 years.

No more Cracker Barrel mac & cheese for me. :sad1:

Oh chell, I'm so sorry you are still feeling bad. Wish I had that magic wand to help you.

minnie56, I'm glad that you are feeling better now.

I did some house cleaning today and then a little more decorating. It rained again most of the day. Tomorrow we are finally supposed to get some sun. I could sure use it.

Jesse celebrated his birthday Sunday with a couple of other boys his age that have November birthdays at someplace called Bounce U. I looked at the pictures and they all had a great time. Jesse got some cute gifts and he loved the cake. He says "cake" quite clearly and is disappointed that he can't have it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will have the family birthday party on the 14th. That is more my style. I don't bounce very much lately for some reason.

Thanks Angelrose!

Aww, I bet he had a wonderful time. Family parties are more my style too. I bet you can't wait for that one. Are you spoiling him for his birthday?

I hope you get plenty of sunshine now!!!

I only got him two pair of jammies and a cute truck. I give him money for his college fund also. I'll be buying his Christmas gifts at Disney this year. Now that will be FUN.
