chell I sure hope you start to feel better soon! But it does look like gluten is a no no for you.
I had a great time on Halloween. I got to the kids around 3:30 and as I was walking up to the house, I heard Karen yelling from across the street "HELLO GRANDMOM" Well Jesse couldn't get across the street fast enough. I got a big hug and then we ran into the house. I gave him a new little truck that has Superman's cape on it. He loved it. Then Karen's sister and her family arrived. Right after that, Karen's friend Liz arrived with her family and then Shauna came with her family. Four little boys running around, plus Karen's niece Amy running around with them. Her older niece Angel tried to keep them in check. But everyone got along well. The house smelled so good from the gumbo they made. They had two trays of sandwiches, macaroni salad, sticky rice for the gumbo, two kinds of brownies, apple crisp that Liz's husband made, chocolate cream cake, and little mousse cups. I had one of everything! After dinner they got the kids into their costumes and off they went. Karen had made 50 bags for the trick or treaters. They went pretty fast. The little ones came out first. They were all so cute and polite. They all said thank you and happy Halloween. If they were too young, the moms said it for them. Then the older ones came out. One "kid" had whiskers! I asked him if he thought he was just a tad too old for this. He said, 'Nope, not at all". He got his little bag. A couple of boys came around with boxes all over them. I said that was really original. They told me they got it out of our trash.

The bags of candy went and Chuck got a couple more bags of candy to pass out. Just as that was disappearing, Karen came back with Jesse's loot and dumped it all in the bin to give out. Jesse doesn't like candy. However he does like hot pepper cheese and barbeque chips. He's got a real Italian tummy. He didn't eat his dinner so Karen gave him some cereal bars and a cup of milk and then it was bedtime. He protested, but he was so tired, he fell asleep right away. We talked for a little while and then I left for home. We were lucky that the rain held off. I wasn't home 10 minutes before it started to rain.
Before dinner, I was telling Karen that I ordered some charms for my Pandora bracelet. Her friend Liz opened her purse and brought out her mom's bracelet. Her mom passed away right after Ron. She told me to pick out a charm, but she thought she knew which one I would pick. I picked out the one that said Grandma on it. It was so pretty. She put it on my bracelet for me. Wasn't that sweet of her? She had given one to Karen before. I feel so blessed to have such wonderful people in my life.
