Angela's Journey to the Life She Deserves (Posts Welcome!)

:wave2: Hi Angela,
I'm so happy you had a good day yesterday :D . 3 miles is wonderful! I am hoping to slowly work up to that. Hope everyone is feeling better today and you are having another great day.

you're doing a really great job, i hope you have a wonderful evening and a great day tomorrow :sunny:

Once again I'm overwhelmed by all the support on this board. I appreciate each and every one of you so much! :grouphug:

I'm going to take a minute here and recap my food diary for the week so I'll have it as reference when needed.

3/1:
B--none (yes, I know this is bad!)
L-- WW Honey Dijon Chicken & cottage cheese
D--Roasted chicken breast & cheese sandwich, pretzels
S--Sugarless mint patty, caramel cup

3/2:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios and milk

3/3:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios & milk

S--Sugarless chocolate mint

3/4:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios & milk
L---2 grilled chicken fajitas w/salsa
D--Grilled chicken breast, baked potato & green beans
S--Sugarless chocolate mint

Geez! I'm boring with the foods here. I've got to find time to hit the grocery store and stock up. Can you tell my addiction is chocolate mint patties?

I did 3 miles on the treadmill again this evening, and I'm still feeling wonderful. I'm trying to take advantage of how motivated I am because I know there will be days when it kills me to get up and move.

Thanks for the pixie dust, guys. I got it this afternoon, and my eye is all better. Yea! No more glasses for me...they make my head hurt. DS is still battling that eye infection. I feel so bad for the little guy. He's in a great mood, but his eye is oozing this nasty stuff (TMI, I'm sorry). I'm hoping the meds are just making it ooze out of his system so he'll be all better soon (read: tomorrow!)

Hope that everyone reading this has a lovely evening/day/whatever it happens to be when you drop by! :sunny:

Angela, I hope your DS' eye infection clears up soon! Is it pinkeye (conjunctivitis)? That stuff is SO contagious - make sure you keep washing your hands! Glad to hear you're over it!

You're doing GREAT with your treadmill! Those pounds ought to be melting away with all that exercise! :Pinkbounc

Angela - you are doing SO good!! Another 3 miles on the TM??!! WTG!!!:Pinkbounc Keep that up and you'll be looking fine before you know it!!
I hope DS is doing at least a little better today, if not all better. How is everyone else faring? Good I hope!:)
Your food choices look very good. Just make sure you have enough variety so you don't get bored and go off plan. Try to mix it up a little more instead of the same stuff everyday. (I know, easier said then done. I'm guilty of the same thing! )
Oh, by the way, if the strawberries aren't too good, what I do is cut them up and add just 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar to them. It makes a very nice sauce for them that way too. It really isn't too bad for you as a snack. With the sugar and 1/4 cup whipped cream, its only 1.5 points on WW!!! Yummy!!
Have a great day Angela! Keep up the great work!:teeth:

:wave2: Hi Angela,
You are off to a great start. Keep up the good work ::yes:: . Hope you have a nice day.

Hi everyone!

Thanks for all the get well wishes. DS woke up this morning without a trace of the eye infection. Yes, Doe, it was pinkeye. Yuck! I'm just amazed that DD hasn't caught it. It's so difficult to keep her out of his face!

Today was busy, busy, and I really didn't want to climb on the treadmill after dinner this evening. I did all 3 miles, though. Our treadmill is in the living room, and it helps a lot to look into the faces of my kids while I'm exercising. I think it sets a good example for them, and they're a big part of why I'm doing this. Talk about built-in encouragement! :D

We're going to do some landscaping tomorrow afternoon, and I'm SO looking forward to getting outside for awhile. Yesterday was plain nasty with tornado warnings and LOTS of rain. Can't wait to see some sustained sunshine! :sunny:

I hope everyone has a wonderful evening/Saturday! I'll be back tomorrow after exercise is completed.

3/5:
B--NutriGrain Strawberry Minis--3 points
L--Grilled Chicken Fajita--6
S--Yoplait Key Lime Pie Whip--3
D--Teriyaki chicken, chicken egg roll, fried rice--13
S--microwave popcorn--3

I've still got a point left to meet the low end of my points, so I'll have to find something healthy to much on while we watch our nightly Disney movie.

Edited to insert my nighttime snack. :teeth:

hey angela, you're doing a great job with both your food choices and your exercise!! keep up the great work! hope ds's eye is all better!

have a great day :sunny:

Don't you just love Saturdays when you have no place to be? We had a very relaxing day. Everyone is feeling better, so I have nothing to complain about today. How's that for a shocking change of pace?

The day seemed to slip away before we realized it, but I got in 1.5 miles on the treadmill before DD beckoned me to get her out of the bathtub. I've still got 4.2 points left to meet my minimum, so I think we'll have some popcorn with our Disney movie tonight.

3/6:
B--Mickey waffle & syrup--6 points
L--Lean Cuisine pepperoni pizza (I love these!)--6
S--2 sugarless peppermint patties--3.3 (is that anal or what?)
D--6 oz. extra lean burger w/Heinz 57, corn on the cob, green beans & a garden salad--6.5

Hope that everyone has a wonderful evening. I'm off to play some games and watch that video. I think it's Beauty & the Beast tonight (my favorite!! :Pinkbounc )

Angela - you are doing so GREAT!!!!:bounce: Can't wait for your weigh-in! It is gonna be awesome!
Glad everyone is healthy and that you had some time outside yesterday. I'm hoping to at least sneak a walk in today (but if I keep DISing, I'm not gonna have enough time! )
Keep up the good work. You are being so dedicated. And I have to say, you are doing it for all the right reasons. Exercising in front of the kids is a wonderful example for them. AND, once you loose the weight, you will be able to do (and enjoy) so much more with them. Believe me, DS is gonna have you running around like crazy in another year!!!:teeth: Not that DD doesn't, but boy oh boy, boys are different!;)
Have a great day! Enjoy yourself and your family. I hope you see lots of :sunny: !

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sharon! I'm weighing in first thing in the morning, so we will see what the scale says. I'm hoping for a decent loss since I've gone cold turkey off soda and have stayed well within points all week long.

Sundays are always a little crazy around here. DH and I teach the 4-year-old Sunday School class at church, so we always have that mad dash out the front door at 9:15 am. We took DD to McDonald's for lunch today. She's been itching to play outside and the wind was just TOO COLD for the park picnic we planned on, so we settled for the indoor playground at McD's. I wasn't even tempted by the quarter pounders with cheese and fries, which is a HUGE deal for me. Up until a week ago, we were having fast food at least 4 times a week. And I wonder how I gained all this weight? :rotfl:

I've got to modify my workout routine for Sundays. I've been working out around 6:30pm after DH is home and dinner is over, but that isn't going to work on Sundays. We go to the evening church service at 5:45pm, and tonight we didn't get home until after 8:30pm. That made for a much later dinner than I had planned, and I didn't get on the treadmill until a little after 9pm. I stopped at 1.5 miles because it's past the kids' bedtimes, and I don't want to keep them awake. Guess I'll do it in the early afternoon.

My goal for Monday thru Wednesday this week is to do a mile on the treadmill in the morning while DD is at school and then do 3 miles in the evening after DH gets home. I'm taking the kids to my parents in Houston for spring break on Thursday afternoon, and I won't have access to a treadmill. I bought the WATP DVD (1, 2 and 3 miles) to take along so I'll have that to do when the TV isn't in use by someone else. This could be a challenging week so I'd appreciate any advice you guys want to throw my way.

Okay...this is getting way too long so I'm going to post my meals for the day and get offline. I'll be back in the morning with my new (and hopefully lower) weight.

Goodnight all!

3/7:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios and milk--3.5 points
L--McDonald's bacon ranch salad w/grilled chicken & ff ranch--6
S--2 peppermint patties--3.3
D--Lean Cuisine deluxe french bread pizza & BBQ Baked Lays--10
S--2 peppermint patties--3.3

:jumping1: I lost 9 pounds! :jumping1:

I did my first mile on the treadmill after feeding DS this morning, and now I'm off to get DD ready for school (after I claim a new clippie, of course). I just couldn't wait until this evening to post the news! No more soda and junk for me! :teeth:

I hope to get back online later this morning to catch up on others' journals. Have a great day! :sunny:

~Angela :wave2:

:wave2: Hi Angela,
:Pinkbounc :bounce: I'm so happy for you! 9 pounds! That is great ::yes:: :cool1: !! Keep up the great work. It will be tough to find the time to exercise at your parent's but now you will have a great motivator with your loss :D . Hope you have a nice day :sunny: .

Angela - you big loser!!!:earseek:  (lbs!!! That is wonderful!! Time for the happy dance!!:cool1:
yes, this should certainly be incentive for you to stay OP while at mom's house. ::yes::
My advice on that would be to call mom ahead of time and let her know what types of food you will be eating. "Mom, I know you always make _____ because it is my favorite, but I am trying to lose some weight. I'd really appreciate if we didn't have it this time. Maybe when I get there, we could run to the store so I can pick up some veggies and fruit and types of food that are allowed on my plan." Hopefully your mom is the type that will support you!:smooth:
And I think Houston is a little warmer, so maybe you can get your walking in outdoors? Pushing the stroller with DS in it is even more of a workout than the treadmill!:teeth:
Congratulations on your loss! Keep up the great work!!:hyper:

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc 9 POUNDS!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Oh my gosh!!! You are melting away!!! So much for soda and eating out!! WOW!!

I'm thinking like Sharon - hopefully Houston will have nice weather and you can stroll outside! You might want to take a small stash of food with you to Mom's just in case you need it! That way you'll have some food you can eat if they are having food that wouldn't fit well into your points.

You can do it, Angela!! :sunny:

Thanks for all the congratulations and advice, guys! You all are great! ::yes::

I talked to my sister earlier today, and since she's trying to exercise daily, too, we've made a pact to work out every day while we're both at our parents' house. My dad is on a pretty strict diet, so we won't have lots of cheats to tempt us while we're there. My family is very supportive, so I'm sure everything will work out fine. My biggest temptation will be the one night during that week when DD, my sister and I are heading downtown to a concert. We'll have to leave in the early afternoon because of construction and rush hour traffic, and I'm sure the stadium is not going to have many healthy foods. I'll probably end up packing a cooler to take along.

DS went back to the doctor today for a recheck of his eyes and ear. His eyes are perfect, but now both his ears are infected. I'm just frustrated about this. DD was never even sick until she was close to 3 years old, so I've never had to deal with these infections before now. This is his first, and hopefully his only, one. He's now on a stronger antibiotic for a longer duration. It's a little scary because he isn't acting like anything is wrong. He's so laid back that my mom said you could cut his finger off and he wouldn't even cry. All I want is to make him better, and there's not a lot I can do at this point. :(

Anyway....I made my exercise goal for the day...a mile this morning, and I just completed 3 miles tonight. It was tough, but I'm so glad I stuck to it. I've got 1 point left to reach my minimum, but I'm not hungry at all right now. I'm not complaining, since I hate it when the munchies hit me!

Hope that everyone is having a successful and enjoyable day! Take care!

3/8:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios and milk--3.5 points
L--WW SW Style chicken bowl, baked tostito bites & salsa--6
S--2 chocolate mints--3.3
D--large salad w/ham, boiled egg, and cheddar cheese--12*

*I estimated on the high end of points because I didn't weigh out how many ounces of ham & cheese I piled on my salad. :p

Hi Angela~
I just finished catching up on your journal and I say, WOW! Congratulations on your 9 pound weight loss!:jumping1: That is absolutely wonderful!! Talk about motivation!:teeth: Good for you and keep up the good work! :Pinkbounc

Sounds like your vacation shouldn't be too much of a problem. That is great news! You can just sit back and enjoy your time with mom and dad.::yes::
DS - where should I start. If he isn't complaining, then you don't really need antibiotics. Ear drops could work just as well. It is a new idea about ear infections, look into it. How old is DD? Does she go to school? She could be carring germs home even if she doesn't get sick herself. My DS got meningitis when he was 7 weeks old  ! And then bronciolitis when he was 6 mos! It is definitely harder to keep them healthy when you have an older one. The ear thing is also caused by poorly former tubes in the ear. 2 things that effect it that can be corrected - smoking in the house, make sure they are propped up when he has his bottle. Ear infections are so common nowadays. It isn't the worst thing, but definitely can be a hassle.
GREAT job on the exercise. I really admire how you push yourself no matter what to get it done!:smooth: That is really making a huge difference for you in meeting your goals!!:Pinkbounc
Keep up the wonderful work and have a great day!!:sunny:

 Hi Angela!
:moped: I'm cruising through to wish you a good day!

Good evening, everyone!

Sharon--Thanks for the info about DS and his ears. I'll look into the ear drops ASAP. Sounds like you went through a mess with your baby. How scary that must have been! DD is 5 years old, and she's in Pre-K half-days. I know that she brings home all sorts of germs, but I'm still not used to it. She started school when DS was just shy of 1 month, and it seems like someone has been sick ever since. I know it's not quite that bad, but it sure seems like it some days. I've just got to quit comparing DS to how DD was as a baby, because their environments are nothing alike. Anyway...thanks so much for your continued encouragement. I actually look forward to your cheery posts each day! :teeth:

Toystoryduo--Thanks so much for stopping by and for the well wishes. They're much appreciated, and I promise I'll get through your journal and post soon. I'm almost there, but someone keeps interrupting me this evening!

Val--Thanks also for your continued encouragement. You're making this much easier for me than it would be otherwise. I appreciate that! :teeth:

Let's see...I met my exercise goal today. First mile was completed after dropping DD off at school, and I just finished the other 3 miles. I had to stop twice but still managed to finish with a time that's 4 minutes faster than it's been so far. Go figure that one...

I had a major munchies attack this afternoon. I was craving salt and chocolate, but I was relatively good. Counted my points and I'm at the end of the day with 11.2 left (5 flex).

3/9:
B--Berry Burst Cheerios and milk--3.5 points
L--Roasted turkey breast & cheese on wheat, BBQ Baked Lays--7
S--Strawberries & FF Cool Whip--1
S#2--BBQ Baked Lays & 2 chocolate mints--7.3
D--Grilled chicken breast, baked potato, green beans & salad--8

Hope that everyone has a lovely evening! :wave2:
