Does anyone have more than avg. knowledge about this scenario?
At 10 a.m. they are going to put him under for an ERCP to check for stones in his ducts, then they are going to wake him up completely and have him wait until 2:45 when they will put him back under and remove his gallbladder.
We were under the impression that the whole point of having both procedures done on the same day was to get it all done at once and only have to go under once. We only found all of this out tonight when they called to tell us what time to be there tomorrow. This is making us both a little nervous, to say the least.
Is it safe to go back under only a few hours after coming out of anesthesia??
The last time he had surgery (hernia), he had trouble waking up from it.
Thanks for the help.
