Android pay/Samsung wallet and other similar services

Are the shops/stores around disney capable of taking payments from sources such as Android Pay, Samsung Wallet, or what ever else kind of NFC Phone payment apps there might be?

I've heard some stories about the magic bands failing and I don't want to carry my actual debit or credit card around with me. I'd like to be able to use Android Pay as a just in case.

I hadn't ever had the problem with the magic band not working. We have been on quite a few trips. To answer your question though, I don't remember seeing the Android pay. Doesn't mean it is not there, just didn't notice it.

I used Softcard (same NFC technology) a few times last year. I believe you tap in the same place as you would with the MagicBand.

Looking for this same information for our upcoming trip.
Has anyone used Andriod pay or Samsung pay at WDW?
I loved using my magic band last trip, on site, and will miss it this trip since we're staying off site!

I used my nfc payment option... but remember, if you agree using a Disney cc or debit to get your 10% off discount, you need to show the card.

Android pay will work the same places Apple pay does. They're both NFC style payment systems. Samsung pay should work at any swipe style reader. It basically should work almost anywhere because of the tech they use. I'm not sure if Disney places take Apple pay but someone else can confirm that but if they do then it'll work with Android pay as well.

Samsung pay is the best if you have a Samsung phone then imo get that setup and you should be good just about anywhere.
