Andreah and Brian - Dec 8th, 2009 (Reception Photos Posted)

That cake looks so yummy!

So what else do you have left to do?

Have you had any responses from your guests about the pre-arrival packs?

Oh, gosh, considering we have almost three weeks until we go, there isn't really much left to do.

I have a couple of little "optional" projects to work on, but no big deal if I don't do them. I've mainly wanted to spend the last couple of weeks doing stuff like packing, working out, tanning, hair appointments, mani/pedi, and attempting to make my apartment look like it HASN'T been hit by a very large tornado.

We do have a few things left . . . let's see what I can think of:
  • Buy gift bags for the remaining jogging suits
  • Edit ceremony prelude music and burn CD
  • Edit processional and ceremony music and burn CD
  • Organize playlists and create a cue list for our reception "master of ceremonies"
  • 3 more email newsletters: (1) Photography, (2) Holiday Happenings and (3) Last Minute Info
  • Purchase thank you gifts for vendors

And that's all I can really think of for now. I'm SURE that more things will come up, though.

And, YES! We've had overwhelming responses on the pre-arrival boxes. They have been a HUGE hit with our guests. We have received phone calls from ALL of the recipients of the boxes, except two. And I'm pretty sure those two will be delivered tomorrow - one is going to my mom and one is going to my grandma. I'm SURE they'll call me when they receive them.

Everyone has been very impressed about the voice announcer who, to clarify, is "the Voice of Walt Disney World", as opposed to "the Voice of Disney". Brian corrected me today. The person they call "the Voice of Disney" is the one you hear on TV commercials saying "Now on Disney DVD . . ." Anyway, people are getting a big kick out of the message. One of our guests who is a Disney World fanatic said "I opened the box and the man on the bus started talking!!!" My brother said "You are the BIGGEST NERD OF ALL TIME!" which, coming from him, is a big complement.

We've received very specific feedback on each item in the box.

They LOVE the park maps and "Passports". They've said it is a great planning tool and will eliminate a lot of confusion. Brian's mom called me several times yesterday asking for information as she was filling in her passport. I know she added several extra phone numbers to the Important Phone Numbers page. My Maid of Honor said that she was just about to ask me for a schedule, so the Passport was right on time!

I know that at least a few of our guests have been watching the DVD, and "getting into the spirit".

Of course, who WOULDN'T love a cute little plush Mickey Mouse. My Matron of Honor called me today and told me her little girl (4 years old) has been carrying around her Mickey all day long. :lovestruc

But I think the celebration buttons were the surprise breakout hit of the entire package - at least for some. The guests that received special buttons for birthdays, anniversaries, first visits and Happily Ever After (for our friends who got married in September) have all said it meant SO MUCH to them that we we remembered their events too. And that's what we've wanted all along - for our guests to feel that this event was just as much about THEM as it is about US.

So, with all the holidays and the wedding and honeymoon, this will be my last five-day work week for the rest of the year. How crazy is that?!?

I hope everyone has a wonderful week and I'll post more updates soon :)

How did you get the Event buttons before actually being in FL? We have people celebrating anniversaries and first time visitors and I want to be able to provide those for you and I know disney gives them to you for free..how did you get yours early?

Wow.. that's really awesome what your coworkers did for you! I love the cake and everything!

Congrats on the wedding! It's coming up quick! I'm still 7 months away from mine.. it seems so far away!!

We picked them up in July when we were in Walt Disney World for our planning session. That's also when we picked up the park maps.

Congrats on the wedding! It's coming up quick! I'm still 7 months away from mine.. it seems so far away!!

Thank you! 7 months is not long . . . It'll be here before you know it :)

That is adorable that they had your logo recreated for your cake!!

I finally made it through enough of your PJ to find the rhinestone info! :rotfl:

I love all your creative ideas! Now I'm off to order some sparkles of my own....

I'm so excited for your special day!!!!

It's 13 days until we leave, and we're still feeling GREAT about where we are for the wedding. We're spending the last few days making sure all of Brian's clients are taken care of, making lists and packing, going through our itinerary with a fine-tooth comb to make sure that there isn't anything that we've forgotten to do, and a lot of personal care stuff, like tanning, workouts and hair and nail appointments. We have to look nice and pretty after all!

We got an email yesterday that a guest that contacted us to cancel about 2 weeks ago plans to attend the wedding after all. Excellent! So, we'll have to contact our wedding coordinator this week and send an additional payment to DFTW for the extra food, bar, napkins and toss petals - about $300. So much for being $12.24 over our minimum . . . I KNEW it wouldn't last . That's cool, though. We're thrilled to have the extra guests joining us!

The "thank you" gifts for our vendors are on their way . . . Godiva truffles!

As of yesterday, I was UNDER my goal weight! :woohoo: I've lost 18.8 lbs since Feb 22nd . . . just gotta keep it up and, at the very least, maintain for 2 more weeks! I've lost about 4 lbs since my final dress fitting, which is just about where I want to be before we go because I don't want to have to be worried about any indulgences during the first few days of our trip. At this rate, I'd have to gain a half-a-pound to a pound A DAY from the time we arrive at Disney to the time of the bridal portraits before I'd have to worry about the dress not fitting, so I'm feeling really good about it.

That's about all I have for now . . . I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend :upsidedow

Everything sounds great, enjoy these last few weeks! have a great time, and get ready to write that report!!!!!!!

Congrats on hitting your goal weight!!! It's the best feeling! Make sure you sit back and just take this all in..because before you know it, the big day will be here!!! Good luck with packing and I can't wait to hear how everything went :goodvibes

Yay, you are so close now! Congrats on reaching your goal weight and then some, that is awesome and I'm sure all your hard work has paid off!

Enjoy these last few weeks! I can't wait to see all your plans come to life!

That is so great that you got to your goal weight!! Congrats! You must be getting so excited that you are so close! I wish I was a guest at your wedding, I love all the stuff you have done for them!

Aaack, I dont know what to say, but I had to say something! I'm so excited and I'm not even going!! :lmao: It's still just over 15 months until our wedding, but your trip report just gets to me every time!!

Congrats on getting to your goal weight, most brides lose weight in the weeks just before their wedding, so you shouldn't have any trouble, fair enough those statistics are probably not including brides who are going to places like DW before their wedding, but hey... :confused3 :rotfl:

I'm really excited for you and Brian, Andreah!! Time has just flown by since that time we met you at POFQ bus stop! I can't believe how much time has passed and now in less than 2 weeks, you're getting married!

Congratulations on the weight loss! I'm eagerly awaiting your trip report!

Last night we sat down and edited our ceremony music. I thought I'd take a moment to share our selections:

It seems the best music is usually featured in movies, and that's where most of our music comes from. However, we didn't really want to use pieces that would be particularly recognizable because we'd rather people "enjoy the moment" rather than remembering a movie scene or character. In fact, we decided to omit song titles from our programs to add to the "mystique".

So, just for fun, let me know if you recognize where any of the music came from . . . I'll reveal the answers soon :)

HINTS:
- The Prelude contains themes from five movies.
- Each of the movies contains a wedding, a winter holiday or both.
- The first four movie themes were written by the same composer.
- The fifth (and longest) segment is a different composer.
- One of the movies is a Best Picture winner.
- One of the movies is playing in theaters now.
- The Unity Candle piece is not a movie theme, and neither is the recessional . . . obviously!
