Andreah and Brian - Dec 8th, 2009 (Reception Photos Posted)

Congrats on booking Misty - her work is beautiful - esp. Toni's pictures! And she seems to be really good at other things too - like if you need a makeup touchup or dress bustling help! :thumbsup2

And I agree - where are these pics of you in the Cinderella dress?! We're all dying of curiousity!

I just need to get someone over here to help me and to take photos. In an effort to remain completely confidential, I've been trying these gowns on all by myself. I'm adventurous that way :rotfl:

I almost got my son to take some photos, but #1 He's eleven, and doesn't really have great camera technique yet, and #2 He wants the gown to be a "surprise" (like Brian), and I just think that's really cute.

yay for picking the Cinderella gown! It's stunning!

Congrats on choosing the Cinderella dress - it's beautiful! You are going to look amazing in it!

And also for book Misty! I will be booking her as soon as I get my date and I'm terrified I'll lose out

I love reading your PJ - A DISbride I've met!!

I love reading your PJ - A DISbride I've met!!

I know, isn't it just amazing! Who would have thought I'd be chatting it up from halfway across the world with that cute couple from the bus stop on the way to the halloween party?! TOO FUN!!!

I'm definitely following your wedding too. LOVE LOVE LOVE the save the dates!!

Okay, guys . . . we've chosen the dresses for the Maid and Matron of Honor:

They are Alfred Angelo separates in Platinum, which I think will be perfect to match the silver threading in the bodice of my gown.

My Maid of Honor had this gown from a previous wedding, and we were able to find one on eBay for the Matron of Honor. The gals may decide to have the skirts cut down to make the dresses knee-length. I just told them to wear something nice for the photos and that they could just choose whatever they like. Maid of Honor has been in something like 40 weddings (including my first :headache:), so there is no need for her to go out and buy yet another dress for this occasion. But, secretly, I'm really excited they chose that one. It's always been my favorite

I just want to say, your dress is GORGEOUS! Total Disney Fairy Tale Wedding. :goodvibes And you got it for such a steal!!! That has to be the bargain of the century, so :thumbsup2 to you!

I love the MOH dresses too... very classic and elegant. They'll be a great compliment to your dress.

CONGRATULATIONS the Cinderella dress is sooo beautiful. I think you'll make a beautiful bride!

The BM gowns are just perfect! They will definately compliment your Cinderella dress and will go great with your theme! Awesome idea to reuse one of her old BM gowns- wow 40 weddings!!!! Good thing you could find a matching one on e-bay too!

I love the MOH dress!! It will be perfect with your dress!

We've made a lot of progress with our planning over the last few days.

Jewelry
I ordered some jewelry to match my Cinderella wedding dress from a place in Chicago, since there's no place near here that sells it. The lady I spoke with is not sure if it will arrive in time for our Planning Session, but it will be here in plenty of time for the wedding, of course!

I ordered earrings and a headpiece:

Hair Trial and Engagement Photos
At first, we weren't planning on having engagement photos or a hair and makeup trial. But, the more we thought about it, and the more advice I received, I decided that IF both Misty and Patricia were available and we could fit it in our schedule, then we should just go for it. Misty said the best day for her would be on Monday the 20th of July, so I sent a message to Patricia Le Jeune. I just received word this weekend that Patricia is available, too, so it's looking like it will happen. Just waiting on a final confirmation on time for Misty. So here's what the 20th of July is looking like so far:

9am to 1pm - Meet with Karen Heyn for Planning Session at DFTW
3pm - Hair and Makeup Trial with Patricia LeJeune
4:30ish - Engagement Photos with Misty Miotto
7 something - Dinner at Jiko

Is that schedule realistic or too aggressive? Are we nuts for trying to pack in so much in one day?

Unfortunately, Monday the 20th will be the only "business day" that we're in WDW the whole day. We're leaving to come home in the afternoon on the 21st.

Disney's Planning Packet
I'm so proud of us! We sat down last night and went through Karen's planning packet and filled it out. Brian and I were in agreement on pretty much everything, which is great. The only things that are still "up in the air" are songs played during the guest seating and processional. We have some ideas, but no decisions have been made. We also have to send over a custom cake design for an estimate.

Ceremony
After working our way through Karen's packet, we went through Rev. Kevin Knox's ceremony options and pulled together a ceremony that I think will be really lovely. We went with the ceremony that is in-between the religious and civil ceremonies, but we chose to include the optional religious items. We also added in a couple of elements from the religious ceremony, including a reading of 1 Corinthians 13 ("Love is patient, love is kind . . ."), which is something I've asked my Dad to do. I'll post more details about the ceremony later, but I'm really excited that we found a way to incorporate two songs I was torn between.

Mother of the Bride Dress
My mom lives in Florida and I don't see her much, but she was on a Quest for the "Mother of the Bride" Dress this weekend. We must have emailed 100 dresses back and forth from the Internet before she found something to order. She wants time to try stuff on and send it back if she doesn't like it. My advice: Just go to the MALL!

Happy Monday everyone . . . hope you had a great weekend!

i dont think that your schedule is realistic. the only worry i would have is how long will it take for you to get your hair done. and where are you meeting Misty for your e-photos? how long will it take you to get there? and are you going to have your e-photos taken with your hair all done up like you would for your wedding? these are things to think about.

Yeah, I think you're right. I just saw on my contract where the Trial Run takes 1 1/2 to two hours. We may push the trial to 2:15 or 2:30 and the photos to 5-ish. I think that should work out. We'll just take taxi cabs to get around that day ... It's waaaayyyy faster than Disney Transport.

I'm not giving up yet, but I'll be sure to let everyone know of our time constraints, in case one of the vendors wants to bail :-)

Good Luck!! :thumbsup2 i know its been said it before but. your little wedding cartoon is way too cute!

We're heading to our planning session in about a month so I decided to go ahead and make a sample menu card and place card to bring with us and show our planner. I'm so excited how they turned out!

Brian's been fussing at me because he doesn't want us to overwhelm our guests with Mickey Mouse, so I was afraid he'd veto these. But that wasn't the case at all. His first reaction was "Those are gorgeous!"

The menu card base is 8.5 x 11 silver cardstock, oriented "landscape" and cut into three equal-sized pieces. So each card will be roughly 8.5 x 3.66:

(The bows on Minnie are fuschia-colored. I need a better camera!!!)

Here are the place cards. Ladies will have Minnie's on their cards and the guys will have Mickey's (with bowties) on their cards.

And so different too. I'm always amazed how the Disbrides incorporate Disney into their weddings.

those are just way way too perfect! how did you come up with that idea?

Thank you!!! Well, yesterday I went over to Archiver's to see if I could find some embellishments for invitations, placecards, etc. (I had ordered the cardstock and pocketfolds from Cards and Pockets). After an hour and a half came up pretty well emptyhanded, except for a couple of sticker packs from the dollar bins.

Archiver's is across town from where I live, and there's a Michaels near my house. So as I was driving home, I was debating whether I should go home and rest and grab some lunch or just go ahead over to Michaels. I was really tired and hungry, but then it occurred to me that I could do something similar with the menu cards to what we did with our save the dates. I remembered how cute it was when I paired up two of the Mickey Mouse paper punches to make a couple. All I needed to do was add some "accessories" - a bowtie for Mickey and a hairbow and necklace for Minnie. I was so excited that I decided to go ahead and take my tired and hungry self to Michaels for supplies. Another hour and a half later, I was back home inhaling a Lean Cuisine and working on the sample :-)

Mickey's bowtie was the hardest part. I'm gonna have to figure out a simpler way to make those. It involved needle and thread!
